[edit] Expanding out of starter page classification
I was the one who originally expanded this page from a stub, and was a little surprised when I saw it classed as a Start-Class page. To that effect, I'm going to massively expand it again. Please edit and add! Wouldn't it be great to have a top rated article on Bridgewater? DB142.167.173.31 (talk) 03:26, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Updated
I've gone ahead and reorganized the article, adding new, referenced sections and a lot of new information. The only other section I wanted to add was on town governance, but I'm unable to find much information on the town website. If anybody else is familiar, please add a section.
Some things to fix:
- References: I simply cannot get the list at the bottom to update. If anybody knows how, please go ahead.
- Adjacent Communities: there is some talk on Project Nova Scotia of adding this to provincial wiki pages. I'm unsure as many neighboring Bridgewater communities don't have pages (Hebbville is the only one, I believe). Thoughts?
- Picture: We need a good picture of the town! An aerial photograph would be fantastic, but I don't know if there are any open ones. I could take a picture on Saturday, but being as it's the middle of winter, it probably won't look good enough for the front page. DB

[edit] Town water
As a long term resident of Bridgewater, I -must- emphasize that I am not exageraing about the poor quality of the town water. I've lived in many other communities across the martimes, and nothing has even come CLOSE. Even living in Sydney, just a short hop from the infamous Sydney Tar Ponds has not produced anything even remotely as vile.
- To that, I can concure, except for Liverpool Municiple water, which is indeed worse. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.222.154.100 (talk)
- Possibly the result of high levels of iron in the water? Or poor water management by the town? Twinchester 20:27, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] General NPOV
Saying that the coming of Wal-mart is 'unfortuate for the town' is not particulary NPOV. I'm sure that the executives at Wal-Mart would disagree. I'm not saying that I don't agree with the comment, but it doesn't conform to the WP:NPOV. Please note that I am only using the Wal-mart comment as an example. There are other sections that don't comply with the WP:NPOV. --Krapehtta 04:28, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sources
Please include sources with any information that you add as per WP:Cite. There are a lot of inconsistencies here too (specifically population numbers). Some good sources would help clean to those up. --Krapehtta 04:44, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] First House
Although he didn't build the first house in the original town, Adam Heb / Hebb built the first house in what is now the town on or near the LaHave River at Hebb Brook. Adam died in 1803.
[edit] Mayor
People popping in and changing the name of the Mayor is getting irritating. If in doubt, look here: http://www.bridgewater.ca/town-council/mayors-welcome.html
[edit] Proposed town-wide smoking bylaw
Just doing some recent reading now that i am back in the area about the no-smoking bylaw within the town limits. Methinks this should be added and tagged as a current event subject to change. AnthonyWalters (talk) 19:51, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
