Brian Regan([ˈriːɡən]) is an American stand-up comedian. Regan uses observational humor, which is also occasionally self-deprecating, and his performances are relatively "clean" as he refrains from off-color humor. Regan's material typically covers everyday events, such as shipping a package with UPS and a visit to an optometrist. Regan makes frequent references to childhood, including little league baseball, grade school spelling bees, and science projects. His clean, off-center humor has been praised by critics and contemporaries alike and Regan enjoys a fanbase that crosses young tastemakers to middle-aged adults; his work has been applauded by such diverse sources as Comedy Central, Slate, The Onion and The Wall Street Journal.

[edit] Early life and career
Brian attended Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida before attending Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. Brian's dream was to study economics and become an accountant. Yet, a football coach at Heidelberg recommended to him the Communication and Theater Arts Department. Following college, he worked at a small comedy club in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In 1986, Regan relocated to New York City and two years later won $10,000 when he was named the "Funniest Person in New York" in the K-Rock named contest [1]. He was an early host of the Comedy Central Show Short Attention Span Theater. His brother Dennis Regan was also on the show and the two sometimes do stand-up together.

Brian is well-noted among fans to be very outgoing and friendly towards his fan base. Fans record that he has been willing to shake hands, take pictures, sign autographs (even in very cold weather[2]) for all the fans wanting to meet him after a show. He is also very gracious during his performances and very apt to interact with the audience, which sets him apart from many performers in the field of stand up.

Regan has one CD entitled "Brian Regan Live" which was released in 1997. In 2004, Regan self-released a DVD of his performance at the Irvine Improv titled I Walked on the Moon.
In April, Brian signed a deal with Comedy Central to star in two one-hour stand-up specials, release the specials on DVD, develop a show for the network, and headline a theater tour, “Brian Regan in Concert: A Comedy Central Live Event,” which began June 8, 2007.
Brian’s first one-hour special debuted on Comedy Central on June 10, 2007. The special was recorded in April at The Barclay Theater in Irvine, CA and a DVD of the performance was released August 14, 2007.[1] Brian will tape a second one-hour special for the network in 2008.

Regan is a regular guest on the Opie and Anthony Show. He has made numerous television appearances on programs such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist and many other Comedy Central shows. He has also appeared several times on Dennis Miller Live where Miller has called Regan his favorite stand-up comedian. He tours frequently with and has opened for Jerry Seinfeld.
