Brian Balmages is a prolific American producer, conductor, performer and composer of music.

Balmages received his bachelor's degree in music from James Madison University (Virginia) and his master's degree from the University of Miami (Florida).

His works have been performed internationally at conferences such as The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, The International Tuba/Euphonium Conference, The International Trumbone Festival, and The International Trumpet Guild Conference. His list of commissions includes many schools and universities as well as The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, "JUNCTION", and The Riverside Wind Symphony. He is sought after as a conductor, clinician,and composer. He is a composer-in residence for The Mid-Atlantic Wind Conductors Conference and Skyline Brass Music Festival. He recently was commissioned to write a new work for the Georgia District 10 Honor Band in February 2007, the piece was entitled "Three Celtic Dances" which he also conducted. [1]

Brian studied trumpet with James Kluesner, Don Tison, and Gilbert Johnson. In addition to being a freelance musician, he currently performs with the Miami Symphony Orchestra, Florida Chamber Orchestra, and the Skyline Brass.
