[edit] leaving the UFC for Showtime's Pro Elite?

Brandon Vera recently appeared at a press conference for Elite XC, the new MMA company that will be running events on Showtime, and talked about the possibility of leaving the UFC to join Elite XC. This despite the fact that his next UFC fight was going to be for the heavyweight title. Full details are at http://www.ivansblog.com/2006/12/mixed-martial-arts-vera-attends-elite.html; I don't know if you think it's newsworthy but if so you can add it to his main section if you want.

[edit] A peurto rican filipino italian?

Possible but I highly doubt it. Someone provide a cite for this stuff? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.190.29.150 (talk) 04:45, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

The first cite on the cites list says his father is Filipino-American and his mother is Italian-American. Vera has always called himself as a Filipino-American. hateless 05:13, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
