[edit] Biography

Bosco Wong was born on December 13, 1980. His journey in the entertainment world began in 1998 when he was spotted on the street by a talent-recruiter which led him to his first appearance in a lemon tea commercial; also co-starred Cecilia Cheung in her first onscreen appearance. The commercial made TVB noticed him and called him for an audition. As a result, right after finishing Form 7 in high school Bosco stepped his feet into TVB in 1999 at a tender age of 19 instead of pursuing his initial dream of becoming a chef. For his first few years in TVB, Bosco spent his time as a host for several TVB programmes and occasionally played cameo roles in various TVB series.

His debut came in 2003, where he was offered supporting roles in TVB Grand Production "Triumph in the Skies" (衝上雲霄) and youth series "Aqua Heroes" (戀愛自由式). He then moved on and took the title role in "Wong Fei Hung - Master of Kung Fu" (我師傅係黃飛鴻) in 2004.

In 2005 he made his mark as a solid dramatic and comedic actor in the popular series "Wars of In-Laws" (我的野蠻奶奶) opposite Myolie Wu, and Hong Kong acting legend Liza Wang. Wars of In-Laws received high ratings and increased Bosco's popularity after its airing. Notably, Bosco's role in "War of In-Laws" earned him TVB's Most Improved Actor Award in late 2005 while his role of Cheung Lai Fu in "Dicey Business" (賭場風雲) was widely touted as the role which tested his acting abilities as he played the role of a repressed youth who eventually transformed into a different personality. His efforts were met with approval and the role effectively increased the exposure of the now rapidly rising young star.

Although plagued with negative press in the earlier stages of his career, Bosco has since overcome them and stresses to reporters that he is adamantly not the "player" the press has made him out to be. In his private life, Bosco is said to devote a substantial amount of time at home with his mother and his dogs.
