[edit] Annoying edit
It's slightly annoying that 169.157.229.67 felt the need to gratuitously Americanise the spelling of "colours". PeteVerdon
- You mean "Americanize"? :-) :-) Stan 06:27, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'm also a little vexed that you decided gratuitously to split the infinitive of the verb "to Americanize", Pete... :-) -- Picapica 14:19, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- You mean use a form of language invented in England (and used in the US), instead of one invented in France (and used in England)...220.253.50.159 12:55, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Question
All this, and no one can explain why boatswain sounds like bosun. And speaking of that, what does bosun sound like? D. F. Schmidt 03:06, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Copy-vio
I removed a copyright violation, the history of this article should probably be purged by an admin.—Cronholm144 14:20, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- We don't typically purge copyvios from histories. You're welcome to make a request to have the material oversighted (purged) but I don't think it would be granted. --ElKevbo 14:30, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] unlicensed
What does 'unlicensed' mean? Asbruckman (talk) 00:55, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- That the boatswain ususally isn't a licensed mariner. I'll put that link in, but I'm not sure how much it clarifies things. HausTalk 01:30, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I was reading this to my kids and wasn't sure how to explain it. :-) Asbruckman (talk) 01:26, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
