[edit] Tag Computer Mistaken

Who put a tag that it's not for pc. lol, its also gonna be released for pc . This article pretty stub. I'm trying to search info about this sequel of Area-51 although i don't have much.

[edit] Some info

Don't know if this will help much.

"BlackSite: Area 51, developed by Midway Studios Austin, is a next-generation game that will redefine the first person shooter (FPS) genre. While other FPS titles claim to feature “action-packed, highly realistic gameplay,” BlackSite: Area 51 takes next-gen gaming to an all-new level integrating cutting edge technology, game design and story writing to create the ultimate entertainment experience. The player’s modern-day emotions and fears are driven into a world charged with grave responsibility affecting lives hanging in the balance and eventually fi nding himself torn between his professional orders and his own ethical standards. In the end, only the actions of the player and his squad can shape the outcome of BlackSite: Area 51 during this potentially pivotal moment in history.

   * Your elite Special Forces squad, assembled from the fi nest soldiers in today’s military, responds to your orders and your leadership in the most realistic in-game visuals imaginable. Lead your squad well and they’ll rally behind you when the enemy brings the fight, but waver in the face of the enemy and their morale will sink accordingly, affecting their aim, their fatigue and the will to fight.
   * Players will have a wide variety of traditional online modes, such as Death- Match, Team-Death-Match and Capture-the-Flag. All-new, unique modes will also be available in the form of Human vs. Reborn mode and the new Siege mode, where teams try to capture each other’s squad members on the way to controlling territory.
   * Drive the latest military HMMWVs, ATVs and commandeer civilian vehicles, or take a seat in the gunner’s position in daring, low-level helicopter raids against enemy positions.
   * As Squad Leader, you have the power, the authority and the duty to command your troops to perform a variety of complex actions, including planting C-4, sniping an enemy in the guard tower, or taking control of various vehicles. Players will also have the ability to control all squad commands with the press of a single button, without the hassle of clunky menus and/or multiple button taps.
   * In the ultimate mission-based, player-driven FPS game, take your Squad down any one of multiple paths to solve problems and defeat enemies. Strategically use cover points and blow away others in huge levels where nearly everything you see is destructible"

[edit] Demo

I think that infomation on performance issues should be included. I don't know if this was just me but the demo i played was laggy as hell. The frame rate dropped drastically even when there was no action.

Are you on the PC? I played a demo just recently on by XBOX 360 and i had no issues whatsoever. Signed by Longshotz 12:29, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

I used my 360 and it was laggy as well.Especially when there were explosions. Resto The Great 22:52, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Somebody needs to update all the info about the PS3 demo. Yes, there's a PS3 demo out now, I know because its currently on my PS3's HDD, and I've played through both portions. PowderedToastMan (talk) 23:00, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

You realise, it takes about as much time to edit the discussion page to ask someone else to add something to the article as it does to simply add it yourself. Do it yourself, lazyarse. Unreadablecharacters (talk) 03:15, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] links

This article needs more of them the only one that works is "BlackSite: Area 51" if you type it any other way it wont work. (I don't know how too make links for pages)

[edit] References/Sources

I added some things on the external link. Hope its enough. I don't know if those I placed are enough or even correctly placed. Tell me if its not enough or if what I did is wrong.

Update: Stub; This article is kinda to short for a game which already has a lot of info available. If anyone can add something, that would be helpful. Just be sure they are correct.

[edit] Is it or not a sequel?

then why does the PS2 area 51 site redirects me to the site of this game? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.233.37.171 (talk) 16:22, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Some info...

I've rented the game, and what I can tell so far, you play as the said character in the demo and article, with the same squad mates as in the demo. There is an XM-8 and M4, as well as the handgun mentioned. The missile/RPG launcher is in, and there's also a shotgun-like 'Reborn' weapon. The only vehicle so far that you drive is a van and a Humvee, There's some form of conspiracy, there are Reborns as stated in the article, and these zombie-like creatures similar to the mutants in the first game.

The story is that you first see these creatures while fighting in Iraq, in an oil refinery while looking for chlorine bombs. Instead, you find some big freaky blue crystal thing that does something odd when it's touched. You and your team mates flee, leaving one behind for the creatures.

2 years later (Although the prologue states the Iraq thing happened 3 years ago, making this point in the game a year ago), You are called in to help with a situation in Nevada. The government is on the bad side of the people during a war and now there seems to be a local militia going rotten. You meet up with your old team members from Iraq, and are warned that it's because you've already experienced these creatures. You drive to Rachel, meeting more and more resistance and destruction as you go, beginning with mysterious black helicopters and escalating into full-out battles with 'Flatheads' and strange alien-like soldiers, one of which unarmed and dying is revealed to have the dog tags of a US soldier. You make your way through Rachel, meeting help in the form of locals (who all sadly die). You meet up with another squad of military, who have found the man you left behind in Iraq.

He explains that the US military has been testing on the populace to create a biological soldier/alien/whatever-it-is weapon program, starting with the homeless and escalating to US delta forces. One of your squad believes it no-doubt, but another doesn't, which causes a bit of conflict. It's decided that they shouldn't take your re-united squad mate to the higher ranking authorities.

At this point, I'm fighting through the suburbs of Rachel, fighting of zombie-mutant-reborn things.

There's an online multiplayer, I don't see anything about console-hosted multiplayer, and nothing about co-op that I can see.

Hope this helps. --97.84.204.207 (talk) 04:36, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
