Bishop Barrington School is a co-educational comprehensive school in the town of Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, England. The school has around 700 students and is a specialist Sports College and Mathematics and Computing College. It was established in 1810 in the town's market place[1] and named after, the then Bishop of Durham, Shute Barrington[2], who was a notable patron of education. Today the school is based on Woodhouse Lane opposite St John's RC Comprehensive School and Bishop Auckland College.
