Shouldn't this article be integrated with the other Bill Nye article? It seems redundant to me to have two articles here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.0.37 (talk) 01:37, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Contents

[edit] Venado Middle School

It had read "The show is frequently used in schools, such as Venado Middle School, in Irvine." I delete the part about Venado Middle, as that seems to have absolutely no relation to this at all. Kakama5 02:15, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Questionable Topic

Did Bill Nye the Science Guy actually had a topic on "Anal Sex"? It seems like vandalism to me.

Yup, it was vandalism. The complete list of topics is now on the page. pbryan 05:38, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Petition

Should there be a mention (or even a link to) the online petition to bring the show to DVD for home use?

  • im okay with that idea, isn't it already on homedvd? i rented one fromthe library once...?Spencerk 05:01, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Music Vids

Can someone list all the mock music videos he did? I'm wondering if he did one on Nirvana or Soundgarden or Pearl Jam, because it was the 90s and all.

Actually, he did: Nyevana - Smells Like Air Pressure video at YouTube. Personally, I think that the music video list would be a good idea too, but that information is probably "hard to find, oh well, whatever, never mind." -- Lastusernameever 15:45, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

That would be kinda hard, there are too many mock music videos to count up. Thrawst 17:23, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

This would be extremely helpful to me, since many of these videos were my first exposure to the music being parodied, and I'm still doing research to try to figure out what some of the originals were. Right now, I'd be most interested in finding out what was parodied in the balance, locomotion, nutrition, patterns, probability, and computer episodes, as well as the summative "we're all in motion" and "there's science in music" compilation videos. -AndromedaRoach 02:25, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
While I acknowledge technically these are parodies, I removed the word from the article, as I believe it contains baggage (usually parodies target the artist or the work). Yes, just using someone's work in a different way qualifies as a parody, I'm worried it may be misleading. I'm open to discussion on the subject; if it's contentious, I won't feel too strongly one way or the other. pbryan 03:01, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why it came out in 1992

I think it's because this show replaced 3-2-1 Contact. In addition, PBS wanted only one science TV show on the air at a time. User:Jonghyunchung 19:10, 11 January 2007 (ETC)

I've never heard this theory. This would imply that PBS went shopping for a replacement? Any support for this? pbryan 05:36, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Don't forget: in 1993, one year after debuting on PBS, "Bill Nye the Science Guy" premiered in weekend first-run syndication on stations that represents affiliations with NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox, as well as on independent stations that later became affiliated with the WB and UPN respectively in addition to PBS' weekday airings.

Yeah, because I remember watching it on WAVY-TV 10. WAVY 10 13:42, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

I remember it on WPIX 11, now The CW 11.69.141.79.71 00:52, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

The National Science Foundation (NSF) recieved a congressional mandate to improve achievement in science and mathematics. As a result the NSF provided production funding to Disney Presents Bill Nye The Science Guy that assisted with the national distribution of the program. User:jamiejchase 13:12, 7 June 2007 (ETC)

[edit] Kingdome?

Is the fact that the Kingdome appeared in BNTSG episodes notable, or at least notable in the BNTSG article? I'm thinking not, but am not feeling bold enough to remove it without another party to conspire with. pbryan 06:26, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I don' think it's noteable enough to be their either - I'll remove it for now (as well as the now empty Triva section). ConnertheCat 15:42, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Parody Music Videos

Here's a list of the parody music videos that the show had. Help me with filling them in. There are a few that I can't remember, specifically one with black and white footage of a man strumming his guitar. I think it had to do with motion, like "We're all in motion" or something like that...

Well anyway, here's the list

Please help!

  • NOTE: These are parodies that were rumored to have happened. I don't remember them!--Gen. Quon (talk) 23:23, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
  • There is also a list of tracks from Associated Production Music. Look, this may seem trivial, but some people are curious about APM stock music in the show. --Roadstaa (talk) 01:51, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Using 'What links here' I found this one:

[edit] Disney Channel?

I have not seen it on Disney Channel. Perhaps soemone should check this to verify it and (possibly) make it more specific (i.e. in the UK). I have DirecTV, and I check the Disney Channel Schedule and I do not see it. Is this right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.130.68.27 (talk) 14:29, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
