Are the bile ducts removed when the gallblader is removd.

I believe the cystic duct is removed in cholecystectomy. The other bile ducts remain. Bile is still produced by the liver and will still be released through the major papillae into the duodenum, but it will not be in the concentrated form. --Eikenhein (talk) 23:49, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
