| Week 1 |
Events |
- The nemeses were able to watch, via the spy screen in the HoH room, the other HouseGuests without their knowledge for their first hours in the Big Brother House. Since they were unable to compete in the Head of Household competition, the nemeses were safe from nominations for the first week.[1]
- On the first night, Joe announced to the other HouseGuests (before his ex-boyfriend Dustin was revealed as Joe's nemesis) that Dustin gave him gonorrhea. The news unsettled many HouseGuests, including Jessica, who thought it was too much information to share about oneself on national television, as well as Dustin, who insisted his test was negative and that he did not give gonorrhea to Joe.
- Kail formed the first alliance of the season with Nick, Zach, and Mike, unofficially named the "Mrs. Robinson Alliance".
- Sparks flew when Jen lied to a group of HouseGuests by telling them that Nick tried to kiss her. Joe subsequently told Nick, even though he said he wouldn't, and Nick angrily confronted Jen. Nick soon said he forgave her, however the event increased HouseGuests' dislike of Jen.
- As Head of Household, Kail nominated Amber and Carol for eviction because they were the first pair eliminated from the HoH competition and other reasons Kail decided were not necessary to announce.[2]
- Daniele chose not to use the Power of Veto because she didn't want to stir the pot so early in the game.
|
| Competitions |
- For the first Head of Household competition, "Mushroom Madness", the eleven HouseGuests downstairs competed in teams. Nick was immediately eliminated because he didn't get a teammate in time. One person from each team then answered true-or-false questions while the other sat awkwardly on a giant spinning mushroom. Every wrong answer resulted in the mushroom spinning faster. When the questions ran out, the mushrooms gradually spun faster. Kail outlasted the other mushroom riders, and she and her teammate, Eric, advanced to the tie-breaker round. The three "nemesis" HouseGuests, who watched the action from upstairs, were given the decision of who to crown HoH, and they chose Kail.
- The first food competition, "Butter Me Up", involved splitting the HouseGuests into two teams, Red (Amber, Dustin, Dick, Mike, Carol, and Jen) and Blue (Joe, Daniele, Jameka, Eric, Nick, Zach and Jessica). The HouseGuests had to pump movie theater butter on themselves on wipe it off each other's bodies into a vat of popcorn. At the end of ten minutes, the team with the most butter collected in the vat won food for the week, while the losing team had to eat nothing but "Big Brother slop", which made its debut in Big Brother 7: All-Stars. The Red Team won with 77 pounds, and the Blue Team lost with 37.[3]
- Jameka, Nick, Daniele, Kail, Amber and Carol competed in the first Veto competition, "Hide and Seek". One at a time, players hid vetoes throughout the House. Then, taking turns, the HouseGuests reentered the House and were given a time limit to find someone else's veto. When five vetoes were found, the person whose was not found would win the Power of Veto. Daniele, who cleverly hid hers in a bucket of slop, won.[4]
|
| Entrances |
- On Day 1, eleven HouseGuests entered the Big Brother House, and quickly figured out the Alice in Wonderland theme.[5]
- On Day 1, the nemeses — Dick, Dustin, and Jessica — entered the House via the Head of Household room before the other HouseGuests arrived.[1]
|
| Exits |
- On Day 13, Carol was evicted by a landslide vote of 10 to 1. Only Jen voted to evict Amber.
|
| Week 2 |
Events |
- As Head of Household, Jen nominated Dick and Daniele for eviction on Day 14,[6] stating they brought negativity to the House.
- Nick admitted that he likes Daniele, even going as far to tell her about the Mrs. Robinson alliance.
- More drama erupted right before the Veto competition when Jen threatened Amber by warning her that if she won the Veto and used it, she would put Dustin, her biggest ally, on the block. The news spread and soon almost everyone got involved in a big argument.
- Daniele used the Power of Veto to save herself. Following the desires of the HouseGuests, Jen nominated Joe in Daniele's place.[7]
- Even though Kail was one of the people who pitched Joe as a replacement nominee, she started a campaign to keep him in the House. Soon Dick found out and not-so-quietly confronted Kail. Dick confronted Kail because he said she lied to him and went back on her word.
|
| Competitions |
- In the second HoH competition, "Majority Rules", players had to answer questions about two HouseGuests, but the object was not to base the answer on personal opinions, but how they thought the majority would answer. The minority of voters were eliminated each round. Dustin, Jen, Joe, and Eric were left to answer the tie-breaker asking how many gallons of water the giant teacup held. Technically, since the teacup has an empty space to enter through, the correct answer was nine. When everyone went over nine, Jen was closest with 41 and won the competition, much to the other HouseGuests' shock.[8]
- The food competition, "Name that Pie", had a '70s game show style. The HouseGuests split into two teams: Red (Joe, Amber, Jameka, Kail, Daniele, and Jessica) and Blue (Eric, Dick, Mike, Zach, Nick, and Dustin). Two HouseGuests would come up, one from each team, and bid on how many bites it would take them to identify the two ingredients in a pie. (The ingredients ranged from blueberries to tofu.) The opponent who ended up with the lowest bid ate the pie, and if they correctly identified it, they would win a point for their team. If they were incorrect, the point would go to the opposing team. The winners were the first team to get seven points. The Blue Team won the competition.[9]
- Dick, Mike, Daniele, Jen, Joe, and Amber played in the Veto competition, "Cutthroat Christmas", which had a Christmas theme. It was basically a game of curling in which the player who slid their curling stone farthest from the target (a red line) each round was eliminated. Once they were eliminated, however, they could get a present from under a Christmas tree. Joe got a slop pass, Jen had to wear a red unitard for the rest of the week, Mike got a date night with another HouseGuest of his choosing (and subsequently chose Amber), Dick got a plasma TV, and Amber had to choose one HouseGuest to be handcuffed to for 24-hours (and subsequently chose Kail). Daniele scored a needed win, making it her second Power of Veto in a row.[10]
|
| Exits |
- On Day 20, Joe was evicted by a landslide vote of 9 to 1. Only Kail voted to evict Dick.
|
| Week 3 |
Events |
- On Day 21, Dick got revenge by nominating Kail and Jen for eviction.[11]
- On Day 24, Jen vetoed her nomination. Dick, the Head of Household, replaced her with Mike.
- Daniele confronted Dick about his explosive behavior and complained that she was getting blamed for his actions, forcing the two into a talk.
- The Mrs. Robinson alliance dissolved when Kail confronted Mike about him, Zach, and Nick betraying her by voting for Joe.
- In a desperate act to try and save herself, Kail told Dick all about the Mrs. Robinson alliance and sold out her friend, Jen, during some pre-Veto plotting. This backfired, as Dick let everyone in the House know about these two actions, and it alienated Kail further away from everyone else.
|
| Competitions |
- The HoH competition, "Getting Schooled", had a classroom theme, since some HouseGuests said that with Jen in power, the past week was like high school. The HouseGuests were asked true-or-false questions in subjects such as history and math that related to the season so far and the Big Brother House itself. Those who answered correctly remained in the competition, while those who answered incorrectly were eliminated. In a tie-breaker question between Dick, Daniele, and Mike asking how many hours Jen had been stuck with her unitard, Dick won with the closest number, 120, to the correct number, 125.[12]
- For the third food competition, "Mission InPastaBowl", the whole House worked together instead of splitting into teams as before. A pair of HouseGuests would slide into two giant spaghetti bowls with “meatballs” with names of foods on them scattered throughout. By communicating with each other, the pair would find two meatballs that matched then place them together on a board. For every pair of meatballs retrieved, its food item would be added onto the week’s menu for the whole House. Ten minutes were given to get as many pairs as possible. Some, but not all, of the items won were bananas, cucumbers, breakfast cereal & milk, lobster tail, fruit juice, pasta, potato chips, hamburgers, sweetbreads, (this item was a trick; by “sweet bread” the HouseGuests thought things such as donuts and cinnamon rolls were intended), beer, weiners and a barbecue grill.[13]
- Dick, Zach, Jen, Kail, Nick and Jessica played in the Veto competition, "Mad Hatter". The players had to stand on pedestals and balance martini glasses on their over sized hats while dressed in layers of formal wear in hot summer weather. As if that wasn't difficult enough, the HouseGuests that weren’t competing came out dressed in ridiculous costumes to taunt players of their choosing. If a player stepped off their pedestal, or if the glass tipped over, they would be out. The last person standing would be the winner. Dick’s intimidation worked on Kail, who was out first. Then the taunters came out, most of whom Daniele got to help Dick win by taunting everyone else. They managed to pick off Zach, Nick, and Jessica. Dick and Jen were left. Nothing, not even Dick's guarantee that Kail would be evicted rather than her, made Jen move a muscle. Meanwhile, Kail pulled Mike to the side and begged him to taunt Dick and give him a taste of his own medicine. In a brave and loyal move, and the one that eventually resulted in his eviction, Mike went outside and tried out different costumes to get Dick out, even though no one would join him, and Dick warned Mike to stop, but to no prevail. Dick then threw the competition, so that Jen would win and take herself off the block, and he could then nominate Mike as a replacement.[14]
|
| Exits |
- On Day 27, Mike was evicted 7 to 2. Eric (whose task was to vote Kail) & Zach voted to evict Kail.
|
| Week 4 |
Events |
- After the HoH competition, some HouseGuests strained to figure out who cast the second vote to evict Kail, as they knew Zach cast the first one. This was an important matter because of the pressure to vote with the majority of the House, who decided that Mike was a bigger threat than Kail. Everyone originally thought that the vote was Jen's, but Amber suggested to newly crowned HoH Dustin that it was Nick (it was really Eric, who received a task as America's Player) since he was the first one pointing fingers, and suggested that they backdoor (See chronology section of Big Brother 5) him.
- Dustin nominated Jen and Kail for eviction on Day 28.[15]
- It was revealed on the July 31 episode that there is a main alliance consisting of Dustin, Amber, Eric, Jessica, Jameka, Dick, and Daniele deemed the “Late Night Crew” by Dick since they hold important meetings at night. They are against the former Mrs. Robinson allies and Jen. Nick was added to the target list because of accusations of “playing both sides” and fears that he could be a bigger threat in later weeks. Daniele tried as hard as she could to get her alliance to nominate Zach instead, but to no prevail. Nick later had a minor argument with Daniele about why she didn’t tell him about the conspiracy theory.
- The happenings of the Veto competition sparked a stunning turn of events. First, Jameka believed that Jen randomly pulling her ball to play in the Veto competition was God’s way of telling her that she needed to fight for Jen. Jameka told Jen and several other HouseGuests that if she won the Veto, she would use it on Jen. Dick eventually found out and tried to convince Jameka that she was exaggerating and to not fight for Jen, but only gained more resentment against him. Meanwhile, Jessica, Daniele, and Dustin, all members of Late Night Crew, were fighting for the Veto themselves so they could keep the nominations the same. Dustin would have dominated the competition, but he was tempted by the prizes offered (See Competitions below) and bought both of them, thus lowering his score. After the competition, many of Dustin's allies, even Amber, showed strong disappointment for his greed, but the negative attention was soon taken off his back when Dick angrily accused Jen of taking advantage of Jameka. By throwing the last question, no one else could answer it, and Jameka, who had the most points at the time, would be secured the win. Jen denied it all by questioning why she would throw a Veto competition in a week when she was a nominee. Jen has since admitted to Daniele that she did throw the competition.[16]
- After the accusations made against Jen, Jameka became reluctant to use the Veto. But in the end, she followed through with her word, and Dustin, the Head of Household, replaced Jen with Nick.[17]
- Daniele became fed up with Jen and confronted her about her behavior, with Nick joining her. Then Dick got involved, and he and Nick verbally assaulted Jen, calling her a "bitch" and "dumb". She defended herself by criticizing Daniele for stealing her boyfriend, Kris, from his fiancée. Then, Dick poured a full glass of tea on Jen's head and threatened her multiple times. Producers of the show decided not to interfere, just like they didn’t during a similar fiasco in the sixth season. This is a controversial matter among fans on the internet.[18]
- On Day 34, Kail went to the Diary Room for a Drop Out Request (DOR) after being repeatedly cursed at by some HouseGuests. She was sure she would be voted out on Day 41, and did not want to advance to jury sequester. Although Diary Room sessions are normally only seen on the show, a portion of this conversation was leaked on the live feeds. In the end, Kail caught another lucky break and decided to remain in the House.
|
| Competitions |
- In the recycled Head of Household competition, "Eliminator", the HouseGuests were asked questions about the three evicted HouseGuests, Carol, Mike, and Joe. The answers to choose from were Carol, Joe, Mike, or none of the above. The first one to ring in had to answer the question. If they were correct, they would eliminate someone from the competition. However, if they were incorrect, they were eliminated themselves. When Dustin and Jameka were the last two standing, Dustin correctly answered the final question (In "Mushroom Madness", which evicted HouseGuest spun on their mushroom the longest?, to which the correct answer is Joe) and became the fourth Head of Household.[19]
- In the food competition, "Humpty Scramble", the HouseGuests were split into teams of two: Nick/Daniele, Eric/Zach, Jessica/Jameka, Dick/Kail, and Jen/Amber. Each pair had to fetch their color-coded pieces of an egg-shaped puzzle from a giant frying pan and bring them back to their podiums. Jameka and Jessica were the first pair to assemble theirs and won. Their excitement was cut off when they were told they had to put five people on slop for the week. They subsequently chose Dick, Jen, Kail, Nick, and Zach.[20]
- Daniele, Dustin, Jameka, Jen, Kail and Jessica competed in the Veto competition, "Vincent Van Veto". All the players began with 1000 "Big Brother bucks". Then, they were shown pictures that represented common Big Brother sayings and phrases (memory wall, Head of Household, Julie Chen, etc). If the first to ring in correctly depicted the picture, he or she won the picture's worth in Big Brother Bucks. But if they were wrong, they were eliminated from the competition altogether. The player with the most Big Brother Bucks when the pictures ran out or the last player remaining was the winner. Competitors were also tempted with the offer of prizes (a trip to Barbados and $5,000) for a price in Big Brother Bucks. Dustin bought both prizes, causing controversy among the others (See Events above). With 2000, Jameka had the most Big Brother Bucks at the end of the competition, winning the Power of Veto and her second competition in a row.[21]

| Exits |
- On Day 34, Nick was evicted by a 6 to 2 vote. Once again, Eric and Zach were the only votes for Kail.[22]
|
| Week 5 |
Events |
- The HoH competition certainly was interesting for those who watched it via the live feeds. Many reported a banner plane was flying over the Big Brother House. The banner read "We ♥ Nick! Amber & Eric are Liars! LNC is the Nerd Herd" and caused production to halt the competition until the banner was out of sight.[23] Some HouseGuests (such as Dick, Daniele, Eric, were furious about the entire situation, and Amber) discussed this banner message after seeing it, while others (such as Jen and Kail) hadn't seen it at all. Eric suggested that Nick's mother was behind the plane, but fans on the internet are becoming more and more suspicious that it's a conspiracy and that CBS producers sent the plane. The reasons being would be to "stir the pot" and increase hype to watch the show. Other events included Dick taunting Kail (though to no prevail, as she just ignored him), and Dick and Eric verbally attacking Jen when she made a nasty comment on Daniele's love triangle with Nick and her boyfriend.
- With the help of the banner plane, Daniele finally came to the truth: Eric cast the second vote to evict Kail the two previous weeks (even though she didn't know about the America's Player twist). She told Dick that she thinks Eric set Nick up by voting for Kail at the close of Week 3, thus going against the majority of the House's (Late Night Crew) decision. Subsequently, some people blamed this on Nick (See Events of Week 4). She also said that it was not really the "Late Night Crew's" decision to get rid of Nick, it was Eric who convinced everyone it was best. The pair decided to backdoor Eric.
- Dick and Daniele set their plan into motion by confiding to Jessica, Eric's biggest ally, their conspiracy theory and all the evidence that supports it, and asked for her help. They told her not to reveal the information to anyone yet, but as soon as Jessica left the room, she told Eric, who was furious that Dick and Daniele would backstab him like that. Before Dick and Daniele got to Jameka, Dustin, and Amber, Eric told them of the plan to evict him. They thought Dick and Daniele's actions were outrageous. This caused a schism in which the Late Night Crew turned on its leaders, Dick and Daniele. Jameka, Dustin, Amber, and Jessica were determined to keep Eric in the House.
- For the third week in a row, Jen and Kail were nominated for eviction, this time by Daniele.
- As part of the plan to back-door Eric, Dick made a truce with Jen because she had recently won the Power of Veto and would obviously be taking herself off the block, and in turn would vote to evict that particular week. Jen had previously patched things up with Daniele as well, and she agreed to help with the plan. Daniele managed to get another outcast, Zach, on her side. The outcasts (Jen, Kail, and Zach), Dick, and Daniele formed an alliance. Later, Jen tried to weaken Jessica's support of Eric by telling her that he is a big threat and manipulator. This time it worked, and Jessica told Dustin and Jameka about what Jen said, but they stated that they "didn't buy" what Jen had told Jessica.
- In his special fashion, Dick confronted Eric about the way he has been playing the game. Dustin tried to keep Daniele's focus off of Eric by suggesting that she put Dick up in Jen's place because of his behavior. This is an example of how some HouseGuests aren't brave enough to stand up to Dick about his actions and take it out on Daniele.
- Jen vetoed her nomination. Daniele followed through with her plan by nominating Eric.
- Eric almost lost his safety again when Dick tried to sway Amber by telling her that Eric revealed to him a few days ago that he knew a horrible secret about Amber — that she falsely told her boyfriend she was pregnant — and he would only reveal it if Amber got too powerful. Amber was furious and wanted to vote to evict Eric, but had already swore on her daughter's life that she wouldn't. Instead of sobbing, Amber stood up to Eric in front of other HouseGuests and expressed her anger.

| Competitions |
- In the Head of Household competition, "Time's Up", the HouseGuests had to hang upside down on elevated pendulums. The last player hanging would win. Since this was an endurance competition, the live episode ended about five minutes into the competition. As always, additional coverage was aired on Sunday's episode (August 7). Fans were told they could watch the internet feeds on CBS.com and get a live, uncensored look at the competition ahead of time (See Events abve). Kail and Daniele were the final two. When Daniele struck a deal with Kail that if she were Head of Household she would not work to evict her, and might only use her as a pawn, Kail threw the competition and Daniele won. Fans of the show have added this among the dumbest moves in the history of Big Brother, because if Kail had declined and stayed on her pendulum, she might have won the competition, and therefore would not have been evicted.
- There was no food competition this week due to CBS airing coverage of the HoH competition.
- The Veto competition was called "The Numbers Don’t Lie". Zach, Jameka, Daniele, Dustin, Jen, and Kail played. For this competition, all players had to do was to want the Veto the most. Each round, a humiliating or dreadful task was revealed. Players were then told to write down a number representing how much or how long they would be willing to endure. The lowest bidder or bidders would be eliminated each round, while the highest bidder or bidders would be required to actually do the task. The first round was to bid on how many hours, from 0-120, one would be willing to wear a bunny suit; Dustin was eliminated. The second round was to bid on how many times over the next 24 hours, from 0-24, would one be willing to dump a disgusting and smelly mixture over their heads. All bid 24, so no one was eliminated. The third round was to bid on how many dollars of a $10,000 temptation, from 0-10,000, one would be willing to take. This time, the highest bidder or bidders would get the amount they wrote, but would also be eliminated. All the players bid 0, so no one was eliminated. The fourth round was to bid on how many hours, from 0-720, one would be willing to be put on slop; Zach was eliminated with the lowest bid of 250. The fifth round was to bid on how many HoH competitions, from 0-5, one would be willing to give up and become ineligible to compete in; Daniele was eliminated with the lowest bid of 3. In the last round, the hardest task was revealed, to bid on how many dollars of the $500,000 grand prize, from 0-250,000, one would be willing to give back to CBS if they did, in fact, win Big Brother 8. Jameka bid $10,000, Kail bid $248,999, and Jen bid the total $250,000, which meant that Jen won her second Power of Veto. In the Diary Room, she stated that she is not in the House for the money but for the experience. The situations each player has to undergo are listed:
- Dustin: None (eliminated in the first round)
- Zach: Has to wear a bunny suit for 120 hours, has to dump the smelly mixture (“funk”) over himself 24 times
- Daniele: Has to wear a bunny suit for 120 hours, has to dump the funk over herself 24 times
- Jameka: Has to dump the funk over herself 24 times, can’t compete in the next 5 HoH competitions
- Kail: Has to wear a bunny suit for 120 hours, has to dump the funk over herself 24 times, has to eat slop for 720 hours, and could not compete in the next 5 HoH competitions
- Jen: Has to wear a bunny suit for 120 hours, has to dump the funk over herself 24 times, has to eat slop for 720 hours, gets only $250,000 if she wins Big Brother 8
|
| Exits |
- Kail was evicted from the House on Day 41 in a close 4-3 vote. Dick, Jen, and Zach voted to evict Eric.
|
| Week 6 |
Events |
- Jessica nominated Daniele and Dick for eviction as revenge for nearly back-dooring Eric.
- Daniele confronted the other HouseGuests for blaming her for Dick's bad behavior. She said in the Diary Room that the conversation served as a dual purpose to express her emotions and to get the Late Night Crew to dislike her less.
- Dick showed his love for Daniele by using the Power of Veto on her. Jessica nominated Dustin as a pawn to rid the House of Dick, even though she did have her suspicions about the way Dustin played the game. This was the first time in Big Brother history that a nominee won the Power of Veto and used it on the other nominee.
- Many people were surprised when it seemed that Daniele and Dick, the two HouseGuests that were put up for elimination were disliked by all the remaining HouseGuests (both Jen and Zach, once realizing that there previous alliance with Daniele and Dick would probably be unprofitable now that both were up for elimination, became more in contact with the Late Night Crew and expressed their dislike for Dick) and one would be certainly leaving the Big Brother House. Dick seemed to ensure his exit of the House (as even he believed he would be voted out) by waking up the other HouseGuests in the middle of the night by banging pots and pans & attacking Dustin's sexuality, Amber's motherhood and Jameka's religion. However, in a series of fortunate events for Dick and Daniele, Dick won the Veto competition and used it to save Daniele from elimination and ensure her stay in the House, Dustin volunteered to be a pawn for Jessica and go up against Dick (as he wanted Dick to be casted out against himself and was sure the worst that could happen was a 3-3 vote forcing Jessica to cast the final vote), Jen proposed the idea to Jessica that Dustin had a secret pact with Dick, Zach proposed the idea to Jessica that they vote Dustin out as he was a controlling player and America told Eric to get Dustin evicted, in which he also proposed the idea to Jessica, to which she seemed to agree.

| Competitions |
- The HoH competition was called "Let's Make A Duel". To kick things off, outgoing HoH Daniele named two people to face off, Dustin and Eric. Julie then asked a question involving something an evicted HouseGuest said in the Diary Room (however, the question would not reveal any House secrets, as happened in the previous Head of Household competition). The possible answers were Carol, Joe, Mike, Nick, Kail, and none of the above. The first to ring in had to answer the question. If they were right, they eliminated their opponent from the competition. If they were wrong, they were eliminated. The winner of the match, Eric, then had to name two new duelists, so on and so on. If neither rang in within the time limit, both were eliminated, in which case Daniele would choose the next two duelists. In the final duel between Jen and Jessica, Jessica rang in before Julie was finished asking the question, and gave the correct answer of Carol, thus winning the Head of Household position, much to the glee of the new Late Night Crew alliance. However, had Julie Chen not messed up and accidentally said the answer to the third question, Eric probably would have gotten the question right, and Jessica would have been eliminated.
- The food competition, "House of Rock", was in the style of a benefit concert. The HouseGuests, (except Jessica, of course), split into two teams: Red (Dick, Daniele, Jen, Dustin) and Blue (Jameka, Amber, Zach, Eric). Two hundred guitars were spread across the backyard with either a dollar sign or a slop sign inside. Two players, one from each team, would run from a stage, pick a guitar, bring it back to their team’s stage, and smash it over the speaker. If the guitar held a dollar sign, the sign would be posted on the dollar board, but if a slop sign was found, it would be posted on the slop board. The next player would then pick a guitar to smash of their own. The first team to "raise" $20 won food for the week, and the other team would be put on slop. The Blue Team easily won the competition. One guitar had a Slop Pass inside, and the person who found it made the decision of whether to keep it or give it to someone else. Dick found the Slop Pass and was going to give it to Daniele. She told him to instead give it to Jen as a strategic move to strengthen Daniele and Jen's friendship.
- Jameka, Dick, Daniele, Jessica, Dustin, and Zach competed in the Veto competition, entitled "Shot for Shot". One at a time the players would enter the backyard to find 10 specially-made drinks waiting for them. The shots ranged from as simple as water and maple syrup to unappealing mixes such as bacon/egg/orange juice and hamburger/fries/banana shake. The object was to down as many shots as one could handle. When everyone was done, all were brought back out to the backyard. For every concoction a player drank, they were given a shot in a game of croquet, in which a point was given for each wicket the ball went through and 5 points if the ball hit the stake. The person with the most total points at the end won the Power of Veto. Dustin, who drank all 10 shots, got an excellent score of 32 points. Dick, who also drank 10 shots, had 28 points after his ninth stroke. It came down to the last shot, thus creating an extremely suspenseful moment. After a few breathers, Dick hit the perfect shot needed, giving him the Power of Veto.
|
| Exits |
- In a 4-2 vote, Dustin was evicted on Day 48, thus becoming the first jury member. Jameka and Amber voted to evict Dick.
|
| Week 7 |
Events |
- Jameka and Amber started to believe that someone from their alliance made a side deal with Dick and Daniele, and that Eric was responsible for Dustin's eviction.
- On Day 49, Daniele nominated Amber and Jameka for eviction, stating that it was a purely strategic move and that she's trying to take a floater out before it's too late. However, she stated in the Diary Room that she has been thinking about backdooring Jen, the second-strongest player competition-wise, after herself.
- Daniele decided to go with her original plan and used the Power of Veto on Amber, then named Jen as a replacement nominee.
- After Daniele and Amber left for their trip, Jen packed her belongings in garbage bags scattered throughout the House. She found Dick's cigarettes and destroyed and bleached them in the Storage Room. Big Brother then gave cigarettes back to Dick which angered Jen. After Dick blew smoke in Jen's face, Jen proceeded to lash out and try to steal the cigarette away from Dick. It turned out that Dick kept the cigarette, while Jen has some small burns. Dick did not receive any punishment for his actions, as it was his right to be smoking outdoors. Jen then preceded to eat food while restricted to slop. Jen originally received a penalty nomination for eating while on slop, this was found unfair to Jameka so it was replaced with a penalty eviction vote instead. (See Punishments below)

| Competitions |
- The HoH competition was called "Strange Visitors". Prior to the eviction, people in costumes entered the Big Brother house without warning (a pirate, a statue, Mad Hatter, others) and did certain things in front of the HouseGuests. For this competition, true-or-false questions about the characters were asked. The HouseGuests that got the question right would remain in the competition, but those who got it wrong would be eliminated. After only four questions, Daniele won her second HoH competition in a row (except for the Final 4 HoH, the winner of a Head of Household competition cannot compete in the next one).
- The food competition was called "Slop Pong", and was based on beer pong, which cameras had caught most HouseGuests playing. Dick, Jessica, Eric, and Zach were on the Red Team while Amber, Jameka, Jen, and Daniele were on the Blue Team. The object was to throw volleyballs into one of the opposing team's ten trash cans. Once a basket was made, the trash can was covered with a lid and was cleared. The first team to clear all of the other team's cans won food for the week, while the losing team was put on slop. However, if both teams landed a ball in each "Feast" can before the competition was over, the whole House would enjoy an elegant dinner for one night during the week. The score was very close, with the final score being 10-9 in favor of the Red Team, but Daniele would eat food for the week anyway because she was HoH.
- Daniele, Dick, Zach, Jessica, Jameka, and Amber played in the Veto competition, called “Big Brother Speedway”. The HouseGuests were informed before the competition that the final two would win a mystery prize from Big Brother. The players sat on motorcycles and were quizzed about the results of polls CBS posted on the Big Brother website specifically for that competition. The HouseGuests answered what percentage of voters they thought said yes by sticking numbers on cards. Each round, the person that was furthest away from the correct percentage was eliminated. The last round was between Daniele and Amber, meaning that they had won the trip. Daniele won her third Veto, which means she won HoH and the Power of Veto in the same week. It was revealed to Daniele and Amber that the mystery trip was to New York City to be contestants on Power of 10. They left via the diary room (See Events of Week 8).
|
| Punishments |
- On Day 52 Jen was punished for disobeying her food restriction of slop only. Therefore, if Jen survived eviction on Day 55 she would have automatically been nominated for eviction during Week 8 and would have remained nominated for the duration of the week. She could not compete for Head of Household or the Power of Veto and could not be saved by the Veto if someone won it. [24]
- On Day 53 Jen's penalty nomination was removed because it was found unfair to Jameka. [25] Instead Jen had a penalty vote against her on Day 55. [26]

Daniele was heavily disappointed when she discovered Nick would be her support person if she made it to the money round.
- Eric and Jessica finally kissed early in the morning on August 26th, shortly followed by their second kiss.
- Eric chose not to use the Power of Veto.

- The Head of Household competition was another quiz, entitled "Tanks for the Memories". The eligible HouseGuests sat on dunk tanks and were asked a series of multiple-choice questions involving the first five evictees' (Carol, Joe, Mike, Nick, Kail) opinions. The HouseGuests that answered correctly would remain in the competition, but if a HouseGuest was wrong, not only were they eliminated, but Jen got revenge by pressing a button that sent them plunging into hundreds of gallons of ice cold water. The last dry person won. The last question was between Dick and Jessica, and asked if either A: Nick or B: Joe thought their experience in the House was just like the movie Meet the Fockers. The correct answer was Joe. Jen happily sent Dick into the water when he answered incorrectly, leaving Jessica HoH. As CBS signed off, Jessica was already thinking hard about nominations. This was the second time in Big Brother history that the recent evictee helped out with the HoH competition; Alison was the first in Big Brother 7: All-Stars. This is also the second time in a row this season when a HouseGuest has won HoH for the second time in three weeks.
- Luxury competition "Shop 'Til You Drop", the HouseGuests was split between two teams Boys vs. Girls and must use their clothes to unscramble three words relating to past competitions. All HouseGuests competed in this competition. The words to unscramble were "Bunny suits", "Unitard", and "Toga". The girls beat the boys and Amber, Daniele, Jessica, and Jameka won a Big Brother shopping spree.
- On Day 57, Eric won his first Power of Veto Competition called "Catscratch Veto", Dick was the host

- The Head of Household competition was titled "Big Brother Tea Party", thus keeping in check with the Alice in Wonderland theme. The HouseGuests had to transport tea from their giant (55 gallon) teapot down a walkway and into a 16 gallon spherical tank with a silver ball in it. The object was to transport enough tea so that the ball rises to one of the holes in the lid of the container. The first person to cross the finsh line with their silver ball would win. But, there was a catch — the HouseGuests had to use 3-ounce teacups to do the task. Then, after about five minutes, a mixture of corn oil and baby oil splattered over the lanes and onto the HouseGuests, making both very slippery. Zach won his first Head of Household competition after approximately two non-stop hours of tea transporting.
- The Power of Veto was played for in a late night competition called “Janelle-O-Vision”. Janelle, a former HouseGuest, crept into the house and out to the backyard to host the competition. Once the HouseGuests were lined up outside, a swirl appeared on a screen and unfolded into a picture of Janelle. Some HouseGuests were confused about this, while Eric commented, “Must’ve been from after her weight gain.” Then, Janelle came out from behind the set, and was not exactly friendly to Eric. One at a time the HouseGuests sat in a spinning chair for 1 minute to make them dizzy. Then, they ran to the other side of the set to find the screen waiting with a swirl mixing halves of two of the original fourteen HouseGuests' memory wall pictures. The object was to hang the names of the people in the swirl next to the screen, and then press the button. If they were correct, they would move on to the next swirl, but if they were incorrect, they would have to try again. Each HouseGuest had four minutes to get as many swirls right as they could. Daniele won the Power of Veto for a fourth time, with a score of 7 swirls.
- The Double Eviction HoH competition was another “Before or After” type competition. Julie asked a series of eight questions about whether one house event happened before or after another one. Each correct answer earned the HouseGuests a point, and the one with the most points at the end would win. Eric and Daniele were tied at several times in the competition, but Dick came back and beat them by one point, winning his second HoH.
- On Day 69, Zach won the Power of Veto in the "Niagara Balls" competition. The object was to collect 8 green balls from thousands of colored balls dropping from the sky and put them in the tube marked with their name. The first HouseGuest to collect 8 green balls and press the buzzer won the Power of Veto. Jameka was disqualified after a blue ball found its way into her tube.

- After Eric’s eviction, the memory wall pictures were replaced with 13 framed photos of past Big Brother 8 competitions and one photo that said “Head of Household”, a hint that the pictures were to be studied for the Final 4 HoH competition, “Picture This”. The houseguests took places at the bottom of a three-way staircase. Dick would ask questions about the pictures, and the houseguests would write their answers on special dry-erase boards then say them aloud. If the question was answered correctly, the houseguest stepped up to the next stair. But if they were incorrect, they had to stay where they were. The first to answer seven questions correctly and make it to the top won. Zach and Daniele stepped to the top at the same time, so they were asked the tie-breaker “How many houseguests are in all thirteen pictures?” It was extremely close with Zach answering 59 and Daniele answering 58. The correct answer was 69, which meant Zach resumed the HoH position after being out of it for only two hours.
- On Day 71, Daniele won the final Power of Veto competition. The competition involved cracking a safe combonation code that could be found by answering questions about evicted houseguests and using their corrosponding number to solve the code. Daniele used the veto and took Dick, her father, off the block in a live veto ceremony.
