'Better Scream' was the debut single released by the first band incarnation of Pete Wylie, Wah! Heat after being member of the legendary The Crucial Three and The Mystery Girls. It was also Pete Wylie's second project (the first one being the short lived Opium Eaters with future Siouxsie and the Banshees drummer Budgie). Wah! Heat consisted during this time of Pete Wylie on Vocals and Guitars, Rob Jones on drums and Colin Williams on bass[1]. When the single was released in 1979 it received critical acclaim by the English press and magazines like the NME. John Peel had also noticed the band and was so impressed by them that he invited them to record their first Peel Session in early 1980[2] [3].
