[edit] Athletics
Belmont Hill competes athletically in the Independent School League.[3] Its chief rival is St. Sebastian's School. Sports are a key aspect at the school. Students in forms I-III (grades 7-9) are required play three sports a year, and students in forms IV-VI (grades 10-12) are required to play two sports. In recent years, the school teams have excelled. The varsity Crew team was ranked first in the United States for High School Crew in 2006 and 2007, and, as a result, competed in England those summers. The team also won the National Championships in 2003, 2006, and 2007, along with five straight New England Championships. Additionally, the Varsity Football, Track and Wrestling teams won the New England tournaments for their respective sports, ranking them first in New England, in 2007. Recently, the school installed two new turf fields for the Varsity Football and Lacrosse teams to play on.
Belmont Hill's sister school is The Winsor School, Boston, MA. The two schools share a newspaper and boathouse, and they also work together to put on a holiday concert and several plays over the course of each school year.
