"Be a Nigger Too" is the first single or street single taken from Nas' 2008 untitled album aka "Nigger". It is produced by Salaam Remi, making it Remi's sixth single production for Nas. It leaked on the internet April 20, 2008.
[edit] Overview
The song is one of at least three to have the word "nigger" in its title, relating to the album's original title, Nigger. "Be a Nigger Too"'s hook not only includes numerous racist epithets in addition to the one mentioned in its title, but also mocks the old Dr Pepper slogan "Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper too?":
| “ | I'm a nigger, he's a nigger, she's a nigger, we some niggers Wouldn't you like to be a nigger too? To all my kike niggers, spic niggers, guinea niggers, chink niggers That's right,y'all my niggers too |
” |
An unreleased verse for the track will be released on the upcoming mixtape with DJ Green Lantern The Nigger Tape.[1]
[edit] Music video
The music video was recorded in Los Angeles (and some parts in New York) and directed by Rik Cordero. It has recently been released online and feature a number of prominent cameos.[2]
The video is based off of the monologue scene from the film 25th Hour.
