[edit] Talk: Barack Obama

Hi - You reinstated text on the Obama talk page here with the edit summary "revert defamatory smear" - perhaps there was an edit conflict, but did you intend to reinstate that text? It seems to me to be obviously inappropriate for an article talk page, so I removed it, but wanted to check with you about the edit. Tvoz |talk 00:11, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Oops - no, I meant to erase another diatribe about Obama being a "secret Muslim" - thanks for catching that! bd2412 T 00:12, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I figured that was it. The attacks are getting worse, unsurprisingly. Glad we have a lot of eyes watching. Tvoz |talk 00:27, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Maid Freed from the Gallows

I put it on hold. See the talk page for my comments. Cheers, Kakofonous (talk) 00:58, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Quick question about a minor edit on Allen Sangree page

Quick question, in your editing of the Allen Sangree page to fix some links to disambiguation pages, there were a couple of paragraph breaks that were removed. The breaks were in the original material that was being quoted. My question is, was removing the breaks intentional, or just an artifact of the tool you used to update the page (AWB)? I'm not being critical of the changes, but just want to understand for my own future editing. CheyenneWills (talk) 23:08, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Those would be an artifact of AWB. There's code that preserves such things from AWB's repairs, but I don't know it offhand. bd2412 T 23:14, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Obama

You may say "utter nonsense" as often as you want, but many european people think Obama is running simply to get martyred. The time elapsed since the mid-1960s is not that much historically speaking and USA is as much a gun-touting nation as it used to be.

People returning from the USA report the general sentiment is like having to choose between a negro, a woman and an older-than-Reagan republican, even the most ardent Democrat-haters would prefer Al Gore for President if he wanted to run. Many believe the current unprecedentedly poorly choosen three-way duel was set up intentionally and with a clandestine agenda in the background. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.131.210.162 (talk) 13:06, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

European people think Obama is running because he wants to be assassinated? Yep, utter nonsense. bd2412 T 13:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] References for lists by area

FYI, Wikipedia articles are not reliable references even for other Wikipedia articles.... So you cannot really say "for sources, see individual articles".... That majorly complicates creating any lists, but it is what it is (ie slave labor for the free knowledge for humanity ;) Renata (talk) 23:30, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

My aim is not to use Wikipedia articles as references for others, but to refer users to the references contained in those other articles. The size of these lists simply makes it impractical to include dozens of lines of references in each. Cheers! bd2412 T 01:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I've added two general references which cover just about everything between them. bd2412 T 01:52, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, I don't particularly care... :) Just so you know such an argument would no doubt come up in case you would decide to nominate the list for featured lists... Renata (talk) 16:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
