Bayble
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bayble (Gaelic Pabail) is a large village in Point (An Rubha), a region of the Isle of Lewis, and is near the town of Stornoway. It is split into Upper Bayble (Pabail Uarach) and Lower Bayble (Pabail Iarach), separated by a burn at the bottom of the valley. There are around 400 people living in Bayble.
In Upper Bayble, there was a community shop, Murdo's, which has now closed after 44 years of service. There is also Bayble Bay (Bàgh Phabail), within which lies Bayble Island, which is actually two islands, but, from Upper Bayble at least, it only looks like a single island.
