[edit] Size of forces involved

Someone recently added the statement at the end of the current intro about the "heavily outnumbered Japanese." A quick explanation about why the Allies invaded these islands with so many troops even though the Japanese garrison was only about 100 people...Just a few hours sailing distance away was the major Japanese base at Rabaul, where almost 100,000 Japanese troops were garrisoned. The Allies put 5,000+ troops on the Green Islands in case the Japanese tried to counterattack with a large number of troops from Rabaul.
