The Annals says it was Ugaire, but the article on Niall Glúndub says "Niall's forces fought a large battle against a group of Northmen in the summer of 917, ending inconclusively", which might be Confey. Anyone know for certain? --AW 16:45, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Looks as the location of the battle is disputed, other than that there's no issue. The Onomasticon Goedlicum says:

C. Fuaitt; ¶ 1º. in the glen above Tech Moling, Lg. 209, Fm. ii. 590; ¶ 2º. in airiur Laigen, Au. i. 434, Cg. 34, Fm. ii. 588; ¶ 3º. a Norse fleet reached it; ¶ therefore 1st. nr St. Mullin's on the Barrow; ¶ 2nd. in the district of Lein.; ¶ airer = coast, border, district, mistaken by Od. for airther, east quarter; ¶ the battle fought there is mentioned also in Bb. 36 a, Fir. 427, K. 168 a, Ch. 188; ¶ I venture to place C. Fuaitt is in glinn uas Tigh Moling (of Fm. ii. 590) in Glynn, 1 m. N. of St. Mullin's, and 1 m. E. of the Barrow, to which the tide comes up, there Sitruc co n-a choblach landed and defeated the Leinstermen at C. F. in Glynn, over St. Mullin's; ¶ and again the Danes of C. F. plundered Kild.; ¶ but (?) as C. F. of Tech Moling is over 50 m. fr. Kild. this raid may have been fr. C. Fuait, now Confoy, al. Confey, nr Maynooth and Leixlip, which is only half as far away as St. Mullin's; ¶ O'D. and McCarthy identify it with Confey in Kild., nr Leixlip; ¶ Hennessy objects that airer meant coast, and Confey is 9 m. fr. the sea; ¶ but Airer Gaedel (Argyle) does not mean the cost of the Gael.

The New History of Ireland follows goes with Glynn. I couldn't find a mention anywhere else, but it is the same battle, whichever Cenn Fuaid/Fuait/Fuaitt it was fought at.

Minor nitpick: King Augaire's Irishised name is Augaire mac Ailella. The orthography on Kings of Leinster is still a bit dodgy. Cheers ! Angus McLellan (Talk) 19:46, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. I can't get that link to work, but if you wanted to add something about the lcoation of the battle, please do! --AW 20:06, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
