Balo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The balo (balenjeh, behlanjeh) is a musical instrument, used among the Mandinka people of West Africa. It is a large set of wooden pieces that have been mounted on gourds, and are struck with mallets with rubber tips. The players typically wear iron cylinders and rings attached to their hands, so that they jingle as they play.
