[edit] License tagging for Image:Michel Elefteriades.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Michel Elefteriades.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Thanks for uploading Image:NowheristanFlag.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:FLAG.jpg. This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 10:46, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nowheristan
From time to time we get kids creating articles about their micro-nations (usually their bedroom!) and we speedily delete them. OK, Nowheristan is slightly more notable than a kid's micro-nation but I still have serious reservations about the article:
- I assume that you are Michel Elefteriades and that you have therefore a total COI
- the article itself contained no evidence (apart from one image) that the rest of the world has taken any interest in the concept. Your own bio does contain this link. But I am still very dubious as to whether Nowheristan counts as "notable".
I think you should be satisfied with the mention in your bio. If you think a full article is justified, you can raise the matter at deletion review. (I have saved the article for you at User:Bahaab/Nowheristan.) -- RHaworth 16:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- You deleted my article Nowheristan for reasons you state clearly. But allow me to state some things and ask you some others:
- - Nowheristan has what it takes to be a country per UN standards. It was verified that you do not need a geographic context (the P.L.O. for example is member of the U.N.).
- - Nowheristan is NOT a micro-nation: it is a global nation.
- - Anyway thank you for saving the article on User:Bahaab/Nowheristan and for creating a link to the pertinent paragraph on the Michel Elefteriades bio. I will gladly raise the matter at deletion review after I read more about how to request restoration, and gather more verifiable info about my topic. The subject definitely deserves a full article. An even longer one than the one I posted. Would you advise me in which category, if not country, the article would fit?
- - I am not Michel Elefteriades and he is not behind the articles. My name is Bahaa Balboul. I know Michel and do see him occasionally. I contributed his bio on Wikipedia. I would not hesitate to give you my and Michel's personal contact details for you to verify that. I could communicate them to you through your email address I see on your website. -- Bahaab 09:22, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
On reflection, I decided that I did not have a strong mandate to "speedily delete" the article. I have restored it and sent it to AfD. Put it in Category:Political organizations and let someone else find a sub-cat if they want. -- RHaworth 12:29, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- - Thanks a lot! I will work on improving it. I really want to visit Croydon now :) -- Bahaab 12:50, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:DailyStarLebanon11.10.2007.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:DailyStarLebanon11.10.2007.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:40, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
