Bắc Kạn is a province of Vietnam. It is located in the northeastern part of the country, due north of the capital Hanoi.
Bac Kan is one of the most important places of Vietnam. At Phu Thong, a district of Bac Kan, Ho Chi Minh president has ever visited in France prevented war. Bac Kan is also the birthplace of Vietnam's general secretary, Nông Đức Mạnh.

Bắc Kạn is a mountainous province, and has considerable natural resources (particularly in mining and forestry). The province also generates a certain amount of tourism, with the mountains, rivers, and lakes of Bắc Kạn being considered quite scenic. Ba Bể Lake (part of Ba Bể National Park) is a particularly popular destination.
