Axthelm Ridge

Axthelm Ridge () is a narrow ridge, 4 miles (6 km) long, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) southeast of Parkinson Peak in the Wilson Hills. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-63. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Commander Charles E. Axthelm, U.S. Navy, Flag Secretary to the Commander of the U.S. Naval Support Force, Antarctica, during Operation Deep Freeze 1969 and 1970; Executive Officer on the USS Glacier during Deep Freeze 1965 and 1966.
