[edit] Hi

Hi Awiseman,

We're currently trying to get an aribtration process going on the Pontian Greek Genocide article to resolve its title dispute. I know you've contributed to that article in some way or another so i'd appreciate if you could add your name either in favour or opposition to such a measure here. Thanks, --A.Garnet 20:25, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

[edit] please expand

Please can you expand on the coments you have placed on my talk page as i am confused as to the reason why they are there.--Lucy-marie 18:55, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your comments but I only hgot so involved because i felt it was as if Hackney and Emeraude were trying to control the page themselves and i decided that i had to say something because i felt agreived that good faith edits i had made were basically being called vandalism.--Lucy-marie 19:08, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Dude, don't quit. You just have to follow the rules, about removing text and about posting images. --AW 16:11, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User Shup(etc).

Hey - saw your comments (I monitor user Shup's page). Unfortunately, he has a habit of not responding/not listening to people. Depending on if the images have been uploaded since his reinstatement, if he is continually uploading and it is after he was banned/reinstated, he can be reported. It's a shame, but he doesn't seem to be learning a lesson. Rarelibra 15:06, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Oh ok, thanks --AW 15:07, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your posting on WP:COI/N about the Georgetown University article

Hello AW. Do you still have concerns about COI editing of this article? Some of us are thinking that this complaint should be closed. if the problem still exists, can you leave a comment on the noticeboard? Thanks. EdJohnston 22:07, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Hey i got a message about vandalizing a page, specifically the Gilbert Arenas page. I just reported new information that pertained to the article. I just need a little clarification. Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.32.169.66 (talk) 02:42, 28 February 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Braveheart Edits

I wanted to point out that you have made a few mistakes in your recent edits to the Braveheart article, and I was hoping that we could square out these mistakes so they don't re-occur.

  1. . The narration at the beginning of the movie is by Angus McFayden as the Bruce. The narration at the end is that of Mel Gibson as Wallace. I even checked because it came up once before in the editing process. Perhaps you could revert our own edit, so I don't have to.
  2. . The Themes section was included because it needs to be populated eventually. It was added by mistake, but I think it should stay in, so as to encourage readers to contribute. I don't see a problem with maintaining its presence, because it needs to be filled in order to get this article up to GA and FA level.

Maybe you could give me your thoughts on this.Arcayne 05:51, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I get your point about an empty header attracting vandalism, but I think we can simply revert it when it arrives. I'm of two minds on it, so I guess we can leave it out for now.
However, the plot point doesn't necessarily need direct citation, as it is simply relating the story. As it isn't original research to simply sya who said what, I think it should remain the way it was before your edit. Will you change it back?Arcayne 06:51, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tom Penders

Well, first read WP:BLP to make sure you're following that policy. Hopefully the sources you are citing are reliable enough. To quote from the "Reliable sources" of the policy page:

Not all widely read newspapers and magazines are equally reliable. There are some magazines and newspapers that print gossip much of which is false. While such information may be titillating, that does not mean it has a place here. Before repeating such gossip, ask yourself if the information is presented as being true, if the source is reliable, and if the information, even if true, is relevant to an encyclopaedic article on that subject. When these magazines print information they suspect is untrue, they often include weasel phrases. Look out for these. If the magazine doesn't think the story is true, then why should we?

Also, in response to Ksp16's remark "information not from primary source", you might want to point him/her to WP:V, which says, "Wikipedia articles should rely on reliable, published secondary sources wherever possible." Hope that helped. Khoikhoi 11:14, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

It certainly does, thanks again! --AW 22:02, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My comment

I apologize for my attack. I've been having a thoroughly annoying day. Hope you can find it in your under-informing heart to forgive me ;) --ThrowingStick/Talk 15:58, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Sure thing, no sweat. Thanks for the apology! --AW 16:26, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Hello, Andrew, and thank you for the warm welcome. I hope both to improve the Stede Bonnet page further and contribute to some of the other pirate articles. I'm glad I looked at your user page and learned about the pirate project. I'm still feeling my way here (the amount of material for new users is a bit overwhelming), and your greeting to me makes it less intimidating. Pirate Dan 21:17, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About templates

I saw your concern regarding the length of notices and thought you might find it helpful to see how I respond to that issue in my own editing. See this page: User:Kukini/Templates. I just patch and paste from it when leaving notices. I find it easier than typing all that stuff out every time. Just an FYI --Kukini hablame aqui 21:58, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Neat, thanks! That's a good idea. --AW 22:02, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
