Auster Islands
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Auster Islands () is a group of small islands at northeast end of the Robinson Group, located 5.5 miles (9 km) north of Cape Daly, Mac Robertson Land. Mapped from ANARE (Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions) surveys and air photos 1959-66. So named by Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) because of the nearness of the islands to Auster Rookery, and because they have provided a camp site for ANARE parties visiting the rookery.
