Atlantic Broadband is one of the top 20 cable operators in the United States with 250,000 customers and 500 employees. The company services the regions of: Western Pennsylvania, Parts of West Virginia, Miami Beach, parts of South Carolina and Maryland/Delaware, as well as a small portion of Cattaraugus County, New York that is not covered by Time Warner. The company is a privately owned corporation headquartered in Quincy, Massachusetts, USA.[1]
[edit] Retransmission disputes
The Cattaraugus County division of Atlantic Broadband has seen several television disputes with the stations in the Buffalo, New York market. Currently, WIVB-TV claims that Atlantic Broadband is distributing WIVB's signal without "the authority to do so."[1] WGRZ-TV had a contract dispute with Atlantic Broadband as well in December 2006, although a deal was eventually reached.[2]
