The Black Doves are a modern rock band from San Antonio, Texas. Fronted by lead singer and guitarist Steve Wilson. Members include Brent Matthews on drums, Danny Trevino on lead guitar and Frank Rodriguez on bass guitar who replaced former bassist Brent Lummus.

The band was established in 2007 when Wilson, a notable Texas singer/songwriter, relocated to San Antonio. Wilson began auditioning musicians who were able to quickly pick-up and play 7 tracks that he'd already recorded at Nieman Studios in Spokane, Washington. These 7 songs along with 3 others would eventually be released on thier debut CD - "Moments of Clarity"(2008).

After regional touring and numerous local shows, Wilson submitted The Black Doves music to Warped Tour promoters for the opportunity to perform on the Tour and were selected to play on the Kia-sponsored Kevin Says Stage on the San Antonio leg.

As lead singer of Chicago’s American Breed, Gary Loizzo rose to pop stardom at a young age by scoring 3 top 40 hits in the 1960’s. His first chart success, “Step Out Of Your Mind” climbed to #25, followed by the smash hit “Bend Me Shape Me” which reached the #1 Billboard slot on March 3, 1968. A third single, “Green Light,” charted at #20.

With the fleeting quality of popular music, Gary sensed the need to develop other aspects of his talents, and cultivated another one of his passions - recording engineering. Opening his own facility, Pumpkin Studios, Loizzo began recording various artists, quickly gaining a reputation as an excellent engineer.

In the years that followed, he worked with such artists as Styx and Liza Minelli, just to name a few. For Styx, he recorded 5 albums, 3 live videos, and 2 live foreign LP’s. He was twice nominated for a Grammy award for best engineer for his work on 2 Styx studio LP’s - once in 1979 and again in 1983.

On January 28, 2008 An Air Canada Boeing 767-300 series jet was forced to divert to Shannon International Airport, County Clare in Ireland due to a "medical emergency". Flight AC848 was en route from Toronto-Pearson to London-Heathrow when the co-pilot fell-ill somewhere over the North Atlantic. It was reported that the co-pilot was acting strangely and after landing was forcibly removed from the aircraft by personnel including a member of the Canadian Military. It was subsequently reported by local media in Ireland that he was transferred to the Psychiatric Unit of Ennis General Hospital in Co. Clare to undergo assessment. A second flight crew was flown in from London to allow the 149 passengers and crew complete their journey where it landed 8 hours behind schedule.

In 1995 the Nolan Committee made a series of recommendations intended to increase public confidence in the way in which appointments to ‘Quangos’ were made. The principle recommendation was that an independent Commissioner should be appointed. This Commissioner’s role would be to establish a Code of Practice for ministerial appointments to public bodies, and monitor the process to ensure that those appointments are made on merit after fair and open competition.

Accordingly, the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments was created by an Order in Council on 23 November 1995.

The OCPA ensure that all ministerial appointments to the boards of executive and advisory non-departmental public bodies, NHS bodies, public corporations, nationalised industries, and utility regulators conform to the Code of Practice's seven principles of public appointments. ^[1]

In May, 1915, Henri-Philippe Petain and 9th French Army launched an attack at Artois. Petain initially made good progress but was unable to take the main objective, Vimy Ridge. On 25th September Anglo-French forces launched another offensive at Artois and at nearby Loos.

General Auguste Dubail and the French Tenth Army made some progress at Artois and one division managed to reach the crest of Vimy Ridge on 29th September. However, Count Prince Rupprecht and the German Sixth Army made sure that the French made no long-term gains.

General Sir Douglas Haig, and the British First Army, attacked at Loos. By the end of the first day the British troops were on the outskirts of Lens. Strong counter-attacks by the Germans forced the British back. When a second British attack suffered heavy losses on 13th October, Sir John French, decided to being an end to the Artois-Loos offensive. The campaign cost the British Expeditionary Force 50,000 casualties. The French lost 48,000 and the Germans about 24,000.

The Caesar Rodney High School is a high school level school in Camden, Delaware. It is a part of the Caesar Rodney School District. The principal is Mrs. Elvina Knight ^[2]

The high school was created in 1916 and named after famous patriot, Caesar Rodney. Many greats have walked out of CR's doors from great politicians to scientists to pro athletes. The most recent school year was the 92nd year of CR's high school.

CRHS has great teachers and many studies including AP courses. The system is non-weighted so the highest is a 4.0, unlike other schools where the highest is a 5.0. They have many classes varying from sciences to ag. All courses that are needed for colleges, universities, and other higher educational facilities are available at CRHS. Its foreign language includes Spanish, German, French, and Latin. Music is another key part with music classes, symphonic band, jazz band, and chorus.

CR competes in the Henlopen Conference with many sports. They include football, baseball, golf, swimming, and more. Teams often do well against other competitors. The girl's lacrosse team is undefeated against rivals Dover High School. CR was also host to Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher, Ian Snell and almost undefeated, 3-time tennis champion for the state of Delaware, 90-1 Kevin Papen. Snell was a 2000 graduate, Papen a 2008 graduate.
