Amy Corrado is a freshman at BC who loves the Eagles, Matt Ryan in particular. She also loves all the BC athletes Amy Corrado is a BAMF. Amy likes mixed nuts, such as hazel nuts and walnuts. She has a dog. The dog's name is Bacci. Amy also enjoys long walks on the beach and kind words whispered in her general direction. She is almost the coolest person ever behind Matt Ryan. Amy is also an avid "24" watcher and loves Jack Bauer like her own bastard son. She also enjoys scenes with Morris drinking and Tony Almeida in general. As discribed in the main Microbiology page, the study of Microbial Physiology focus how bacterial(mainly) and other microorgims carry the basic and not so basic functions of life. These functions of life include energy generation, reproduction, repair. Marika Anthony-Shaw is a Canadian Violist based in Montreal, Quebec. She is a former strings teacher at Lindsay Place High School. Winner of the Best Female Singer award at the 2007 Tibetan music awards,Namgyal Lhamo took to singing at a very young age and was chosen to be trained at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts ( www.tibetanarts.org) in Dharamsala,India established by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, to preserve the cultural identity of Tibetans by keeping alive their artistic traditions and by sharing them with the world.

She studied with the most important Tibetan music teachers of post war Tibet. In this way she stepped into the tradition of the various kinds of classical and folk music of her country. Her “Nangma” and “Toeshe” interpretations – classical Tibetan songs from the 17th century – are renowned among Tibetans worldwide. Lincoln High School (Owosso, Michigan) is an alternative high school in Owosso, Michigan. Established in 2005, it is part of the Owosso Public School district. The goal of Lincoln High School is for students to get caught up with credits in the 4 core subject areas (Social Studies, Math, English, Science) in a safe and nurturing setting and then either transfer to Owosso High School or to graduate from LHS.

Lincoln provides social work services, student council, athletics, community projects, and co-op (work experience credits), and have certified teachers and a social worker on staff.

Flymanda, or The Ghost's wedding is a lost comic opera of the mid-20th century, the unaided work of two schoolboy brothers, David and Brian Boulton, aged 16 and 14 respectively. Although lacking any dramatic or musical training they produced a large-scale work in three acts with around 40 musical numbers and extensive spoken dialogue. David wrote the libretto and, despite an inability to read music Brian produced a vocal score for nearly all the numbers, and some rudimentary piano accompaniments, relying on a resourceful pianist with a talent for improvisation to do the rest.

The opera was performed once, in 1952. Thereafter the music was lost but a copy of the libretto was kept, among family papers, in a trunk which David inherited on his mother's death in 1985. He discovered the libretto 20 years later.

Plot Synopsis The eponymous hero is a betrothed soldier who, having been killed in battle, arrives at his bride-to-be's home in spirit form and expects the wedding to go ahead. Clarantella is happy to oblige but her family is outraged. Flymanda and Clarantella are defiant. More opposition comes from the spirit world where a "trial" of sorts determines that all unions between ghost and mortal are forbidden. Clarantella considers suicide, but Flymanda meets a sorceress who has a potion that can restore him to mortal form. A deal is struck; he drinks the potion and returns triumphantly to life, only to find that the sorceress has tricked him into a promise to marry her, not Clarantella. All seems lost again, but after some tense by-play Flymanda proves equal to the occasion, and by trickery of his own and the help of some benign spirits, the witch is vanquished. The wedding of Flymanda and Clarantella can now take place and the opera ends joyfully.

Performance The original plan, to offer the work to a local operatic group, had to be abandoned. The fall-back was the Ashford (Middx) Marionette Society, founded by Martyn Beeny and his son Jon. They agreed to take on Flymanda, but their schedule required an early performance date that led to a very hurried completion of the words and music, and very limited rehearsal time. No accommodating pianist was available but a local violinist was persuaded to provide an accompaniment, and had to familiarise himself with music which, late in the day, was still being written. In short, the production was severely undercooked. However, the performance duly took place before an invited audience in the Marionette Society's theatre in the spring of 1952 (exact date now unknown). The occasion was not wholly successful; the length proved tedious, under-rehearsal was evident, and a single violinist could not do justice to the music.

Aftermath After the disappointment of the performance Brian abandoned any hopes of a musical or theatrical career. David thought otherwise, and in the following year he wrote a short comic play The Willow Pattern Plite (sic: plate/plight/plite) which was performed by the Marionette Society as part of Ashford's Coronation celebrations in June 1953. Although he wrote no more for the stage David became a prolific TV journalist and author, his many books covering jazz, conscientious objectors, Northern Ireland, world politics and Quaker humanism. Brian had a quiet career as a college lecturer, local politician and director (1992-2007) of the School of Gemmology and Allied Studies. The Marionette Society went from strength to strength, staging Gilbert and Sullivan productions and other works. Its distant successor today is the Tysoe (Warwickshire) Marionette Group, run by Jon Beeny, which still has The Willow Pattern Plite in its repertory.

Rediscovery The reappearance in 2005 of the long-lost Flymanda libretto inspired Brian to recall and write down as much of the music as possible - he was able to remember perhaps two-thirds of the melodies. Thereafter a selection of these tunes was adapted into a four-handed piano suite, which has been recorded so that the music of Flymandacan be heard again, after more than 50 years. There are now steps in hand for a performable version to be created - approx. 1 hour - and a slimmed-down libretto has been mined from the original, with this purpose. The production of a vocal score with full piano accompaniment will require some competent assistance. This is likely to be "work in progress" for several years.

David thought otherwise, and in the following year he wrote a short comic play The Willow Pattern Plite (sic: plate/plight/plite) which was performed by the Marionette Society as part of Ashford's Coronation celebrations in June 1953. Although he wrote no more for the stage David became a prolific TV journalist and author, his many books covering jazz, conscientious objectors, Northern Ireland, world politics and Quaker humanism. Brian had a quiet career as a college lecturer, local politician and director (1992-2007) of the School of Gemmology and Allied Studies. The Marionette Society went from strength to strength, staging Gilbert and Sullivan productions and other works. Its distant successor today is the Tysoe (Warwickshire) Marionette Group, run by Jon Beeny, which still has The Willow Pattern Plite in its repertory.

Rediscovery The reappearance in 2005 of the long-lost Flymanda libretto inspired Brian to recall and write down as much of the music as possible - he was able to remember perhaps two-thirds of the melodies. Thereafter a selection of these tunes was adapted into a four-handed piano suite, which has been recorded so that the music of Flymandacan be heard again, after more than 50 years. There are now steps in hand for a performable version to be created - approx. 1 hour - and a slimmed-down libretto has been mined from the original, with this purpose. The production of a vocal score with full piano accompaniment will require some competent assistance. This is likely to be "work in progress" for several years.

Jonathan (“Jon”) Bohrn (b. 1957) lives in Long Beach, CA, which he considers to be the best place on earth. Helene Alexopolous Warrick, born as Helene Alexopoulos to Mary and George Alexopoulos, was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 16th. At 6, Helene Alexopoulos began studying ballet, and at the age of 14 began her studies with Maria Tallchief, notable former Principle Dancer of NYCB and Director of the Chicago Lyric Opera Ballet. Helene then moved to Manhattan, New York to audition for NYCB and was accepted by George Balanchine, who famously misconceived her as being Hawaiian. Helene Alexopoulos is actually of Greek descent.

From then on, Helene Alexopoulos' career becan its steady incline. She became a principal in 1989 and became most noted for her performances as The Siren in The Prodigal Son, the Burlesque dancer in Slaughter on 10th Avenue, the role of Coffee in Balanchine's The Nutcracker, and the Merry Widow in her bowing-out piece, Vienna Waltzes.
