Shalom ^Hello 02:37, 29 July 2007 (UTC) Canon Horace Baugh (1916 - 2007) was a Quebec, Canada Anglican priest who was famous for his annual blessing of pets atop Mount Royal in Montreal. Canon Baugh conducted his blessings each year for 56 years, continuing after he went blind, until his death at 91 years. He once estimated that he blessed over 60,000 pets over the years, including dogs, cats, horses, and snakes. Canon Baugh was instrumental in founding the skier's chapel - St. Francis of the Birds in St. Sauveur des Monts in the Laurentians.

Note to editors: Canon Baugh is a Quebec celebratory. He regularly appeared in newspapers and television while performing his annual blessing of pets. He is as well known as many movie stars who appear in the encyclopaedia. Canon Baugh has affected the lives of all Montrealers regardless of faith by his public contribution to the awareness of the importance of our animal friends, and by his personal perseverance of performing his duties through advanced age and declining health. He is not only worthy of inclusion as a Wiki item, his story would make a great human interest article that would be facinating reading even to those who have not heard of him.

Nicholas John Bennett was born on May 24 shortly after the Indy 500. His parents, David John Bennett and LuAnn Bennett were thinking of naming him Al, after the winner of the Indy 500. Luckily, they decided Nicholas was more suitable. He was born in St. Joe Hospital and was a very healthy child.

Nick grew up with two older brothers. Mathew David Bennett and Daniel William Bennett. Enjoying the fun times of childhood, such as making snowmen, riding bikes, and throwing rocks at cars, Nicholas enjoyed his time. Nicholas went to the First Presbeterian daycare from 1995 until 1998. In the fall of 1998 Nicholas began at Lincoln Elementary. He met many new friends there, such as Quelan Hughes and Jordan Zieg. In 2004, Nicholas enrolled into Shawnee Middle School. There he made many more friends such as Colin Boullion, Tyler Bowers, Samra Cordic, and Jordyn Carias. It was rumored that Nick had a relationship with Samra at the beginning of their 8th grade year, but that has yet to be confirmed.

In school Nick was one of the top in his class. Getting A's in the classroom seemed to come easy to him. What people didn't know was that Nick worked so hard in school because he felt he couldn't much of anything else right. He felt he was very unattractive, and he was by no means an athlete. Though there were times where his weight and appearance took a toll on Nick, it never stopped him from trying to be a funny/nice guy whenever he could. He greatly enjoyed helping to bring a laugh and a smile to people. Nick also plays the Viola in the school orchestra. He sometimes gets pestered by his friends about being in the orchestra, but Nick greatly enjoys it.

Now Nick is preparing to enter Northrop High School in 2007. His hope is to shed his image of the overweight nerdy kid and show people who he really is in this new school.

Bruce Barker is the piano man at the Neon Cactus in Lafayette Indiana. He has been performing for many years. He taught himself to play piano himself. Parts of his act have been taken from piano bars in Austin Texas. Overall it is over rated.

She is also fashioned with extreme sports like parachuting and immersions. She likes to travel, listen to music, and amongst her tropheys she has also the title of rowing champion of Brasil. On September 2005 she began her experience as a blond velina of the most famous satiric show in Italy, Striscia la notizia. She was confirmed as part of the show for the seasons 2006/07 and 2007/08.

Khin is the main traditional drum used in Dapha music by Newars. The instrument is also called "Dapha Khin". It is played in pairs facing each other using palm and fingers of both hands. Khin is made of hollow wood trunk swollen at the middle. The bigger right side of Khin called "Mankaa" is covered with goat skin and produces flat sound with bass but the left side called "Nasah" is covered with cow skin producing sharp sound. The covering skin has layers of special black tuning paste called "Khau". The "Maanka" side is always palyed with the left hand and the "Nasaa" side is played with the right hand.

Teriparatide is the first in a new class of bone formation agents. Once daily administration of Forteo activates osteoblasts and stimulates the formation of new bone.

Pharmacology. Osteoporosis is characterised by low bone mass and microarchitectural deterioration of bone tissue, leading to bone fragility and an increase in the risk of vertebral and nonvertebral fractures. The diagnosis of osteoporosis may be confirmed by the finding of low bone mass or the presence or history of osteoporotic fracture. While nonvertebral fractures are usually clinically apparent, vertebral fractures also may be manifested by back pain, height loss or kyphosis.

Mechanism of action. Endogenous 84 amino acid parathyroid hormone (PTH) is the primary regulator of calcium and phosphate metabolism in bone and kidney. Physiological actions of PTH include regulation of bone metabolism, renal tubular reabsorption of calcium and phosphate, and intestinal calcium absorption. The biological actions of PTH and teriparatide are mediated through binding to specific PTH cell surface receptors. Teriparatide is the active fragment (1-34) of endogenous human PTH, manufactured using recombinant DNA technology. Teriparatide binds to these receptors with similar affinity as PTH, and has the same actions in bone and kidney as PTH. Like endogenous PTH, teriparatide is not expected to accumulate in bone or other tissues.

Little is known about Alexandre Farto however here is some information on this mysteries graffiti artist. He began getting into street art and stencils when he was just 13, before that he had done a lot of tradicional graffiti/train bombing. Now 20 years old, he is taking his work to another level by bridging more than the concepts of street art and gallery art, but the tangible aspects as well. His signature to the last project "Building 3 Steps", consist of his two-person indoor/outdoor installation with Miguel Mauricio showed from December 18th, 2006 to January 12th, 2007 at Galeria Promóntorio in Lisbon. Together, they used steel boxes, spray cans, bleach, paint, lighting, and more in an exhibit that started inside the gallery, crept outside and wrapped around the building. In 2003, there was a very short profile on Alexandre Farto (aka Vhils) projects hosted on various websites, Alexandre being only 16 years old.

Fraydon Jamsheed Aryan (born December 31 1970) is an Iranian historian and activist. He is best known for his English language articles and lectures regarding the ancient history of Iran and especially the [Aryan Iranian Norooz][1] (Iranian New Year) Celebrations. Amongst his in depth knowledge of Iran he also has many supporters for his writings regarding Alexander the Great who he claims Iranians remember as [Alexander the Cursed][2].

The above poem by Fraydon Aryan illustrates his view quite clearly. Also within one of his articles he writes:

“It is my view that the standard, popular version of Western history in relation towards the period of Alexander, from birth to death, is based on self interest and pure fiction. Fiction because the Alexander that they speak of does not historically exist. The Alexander that history has recorded is immoral, monstrous, vile, cruel, and his actions inexcusable. His treatment of the conquered was atrocious and he lacked humanity.”

Amongst his students he is considered as the Guardian of Iran’s true history. For this reason he is considered by many as a nationalist and a monarchist.

His audience is quite large and has become known to Indians due to his publications in popular magazines such as Parsiana ^[1] and newspapers such as Jam-e-Jamshed ^[2]. In Germany his more known for his support of German contributions to world history. Even amongst Greeks he has found supporters for his description of Alexander the Great as a mass murder who also was against the Greeks as he was himself from Macedonia. An example he gives is the destruction of the city of Thebes (Greece) that Alexander the Great destroyed slaughtering the entire population.

Fraydon Aryan was born in Iran, Tehran and at the age of eight due to the Islamic take over of his country in 1979 choose the life of exile along side million other Iranians who fled from their country due to the persecution of musicians, historians, intellectuals, teachers and different Iranian religious groups (e.g. the Zoroastrian community).

In exile he has spent his time writing, lecturing and educating his compatriots and the West on the secret hidden history of Iran. He is a trained Architect and teacher residing currently in the United Kingdom.

Fraydon Aryan regards the Iranian New Year (Norooz) as the first known celebration of New Year in human history.

He has also given the date of 8486 (From the birth of the Iranian prophet, Asho Zarathusthra Spitaman, 6480 B.C.) as according to the Iranian Mazda Yazni Zarathustrian calendar. This is equivalent to 2007 years since the Birth of Jesus Christ.

There are those who have labelled him as an extremist, fanatical Zoroastrian Iranian with strong nationalistic view points due to his lectures and description of the Sassanians (last Iranian empire before the attack of the Islamic Arab armies) as the last golden age for Iran and its greatest combined achievements. He also has described the Pahlavi dynasty (the monarchy government of Iran before 1979 Islamic revolution) as a golden age in comparison to the past 1400 years since the fall of the Sassanians.

Soil Solarization is an environmentally-friendly method of using solar power for controlling disease agents in the soil by mulching the soil, usually with a transparent polyethylene cover.

[edit] Description

Soil solarization (also referred to as solar heating of the soil in early publications) is a relatively new soil disinfestation method, first described in 1976 by Katan et al., for controlling soilborne pathogens and weeds, mostly as a pre-planting soil treatment. It was achieved by covering (mulching, tarping) the soil with transparent polyethylene during the hot season, thereby heating it and killing the pests. The publication described in detail the method, its principles and potential in disease and weed control under field conditions. It presented the results of studies initiated in 1973 as presented at a meeting of the Phytopathological Society of Israel in February 1975.

Attempts were made to use solar energy for controlling disease agents in soil and in plant material already in the ancient civilization of India. In 1939, Groashevoy, who used the term "solar energy for sand disinfection," controlled Thielaviopsis basicola upon heating the sand by exposure to direct sunlight.

Soil solarization is the third approach for soil disinfestation; the two other main approaches, soil steaming and fumigation; were developed at the end of the 19th Century. The idea of solarization was based on observations by extension workers and farmers in the hot Jordan Valley, who noticed the intensive heating of the polyethylene-mulched soil. The involvement of biological control mechanisms in pathogen control and the possible implications were indicated in the first publication, noticing the very long effect of the treatment. In 1977, American scientists from the University of California at Davis reported the control of Verticillium in a cotton field, based on studies started in 1976, thus denoting, for the first time, the possible wide applicability of this method.

It should be emphasized that the use of polyethylene for soil solarization differs in principal from its traditional agricultural use. With solarization, soil is mulched during the hottest months (rather than the coldest, as in conventional plasticulture which is aimed at protecting the crop) in order to increase the maximal temperatures in an attempt to achieve lethal heat levels.

In the first 10 years following the 76 publication soil solarization was investigated in at least 24 countries (today - more than 50), mostly in the hot regions, although there were some important exceptions. The studies demonstrated the effectiveness of solarization with various crops (vegetables, field crops, ornamentals and fruit trees) against many pathogens, weeds and a soil arthropod. Pathogens and weeds which are not controlled by solarization were also detected. In parallel, the biological, chemical and physical changes taking place in the solarized soil during and after the solarization process, interactions with other methods of control and many other topics, were investigated. Some findings, e.g. long-term effects, biological control and increased growth response were verified in various climatic regions and soils. This demonstrates involvement of general mechanisms in solarization.

Computerized simulation models were developed, and can be used as a guidelines by researchers and growers which are interested to employ solarization, and are not sure whether the ambient conditions in their place are suitable for solarization.

Studies of the improvement of solarization by integrating it with other methods or by solarizing in closed glasshouses, or studies concerning commercial application by developing mulching machines were also carried out.

The use of solarization in existing orchards (e.g. controlling Verticillium in pistachio plantations) is an important deviation from the standard preplanting method and was reported as early as 1979.

Kevin Leyton attended Monash Secondary College and graduated class 2000. As far as I know he resided in Sanicky St, Notting Hill until he successfully auditioned to be the new 4th member of Mercury4 in 2004. From a personal point of view, all that singing in the boys toilets at lunch at Monash Secondary College must have payed off, all though Mercury4 no longer remain in the spotlight...

Graveside Service is a Ceremonial Black Metal/Funeral Doom band from Providence, Rhode Island. Starting out with a recording contract from Earache Records in 1994, Graveside Service were more focused on epic works thematically similar to Mercyful Fate and Burzum; although their references to church burnings and the positives of National Socialism were not serious in nature. This bold stance set Graveside Service firmly apart from contemporaries such as The Jazz Alcoholics and Buckets of Gore; whose racist, homophobic and misogynic attacks were common in the burgeoning Black Grim Funeral Metal Noise scene at that time.

Graveside Service is no longer part of Earache and currently appears on Horrid Grim Doom Cudgel of Doom, supposedly because the band was not or ever will be considered a serious Grim Black Metal outfit.

It should be noted that Horrid Grim Doom Cudgel of Doom is a vanity imprint of Graveside Service in itself.

Their primary lyrical focus involves mocking white liberals and blaming black conservatives for pretty much everything bad that has ever happened.

RJ Tungol (born on January 2, 1990 in Virginia Beach, Virginia) is a famous contemporary artist/graphic designer/illustrator. Being only 17, he is a young entrepreneur. In 2005 he founded a local Virginian clothing line which is now spanning from Virginia, California, Kentucky, New York, Germany, and even Switzerland. He and his friend have established a movement with the clothing line known to be ci7y clothing, name created from 7 cities also known as the seven major cities of Virginia. The line was made accidentally, Tungol, on boredom, made a few designs and thought they would look nice on t-shirts so he ironed them on and when he wore a few in school, each student wanted to get their hands on one. As more and more demand on the tees came, RJ made his tees look more professionally done. His tees now, are professionally made in California. He has made an impact on his local community by showing propaganda through the designs which has made heads turn as they happen to see one. Now most of his profits go to charity. Tungol recently made shirts for a cancer relay in his hometown.

His well known design "the bandito" has made a little spark through t.v. and famous hip hop artist, including, recently on BET, Nickelus F.
