Annus Horribilis is an ongoing literary project which aims to collect true "worst day" stories from people all over the world. The culmination of the project is to be the publication of a book containing the best three-hundred and sixty-five stories. Although a unique undertaking in its own right, Annus Horribilis has something in common with the creative tradition begun by people like Dave Gorman insofar as the actual process of collecting different elements under a common theme and relaying them back to the public in a humorous way is just as much a part of the project as the end result.

[edit] Popularity

The Chelmsford Weekly News reported in March 2007 that over two-hundred people had at that point contributed to the project, with entries being sent from "all parts of the English-speaking world, including America and Australia."^[1]

According to information previously released in myspace bulletins, the Annus Horribilis profile is viewed over a hundred times daily and receives submissions at an average rate of five per day.

The Edge magazine has begun a monthly feature on the project, reporting its progress and printing a different worst day each issue. It quotes Stephen Moles, the creator of Annus Horribilis, as saying that "people clearly have a lot to get off their chests."^[2] This explains a large part of its appeal: it is not only fun, but a cathartic process for everyone who participates.

When it first began in late 2006, the Annus Horribilis Project was promoted through various public events in the south of England which involved people dressed as beaten-up leprechauns miming worst days and distributing leaflets. Most of the subsequent promotion has been online. The primary point of reference for the project is a myspace profile(www.myspace.com/annus_horribilis)which puts some of the best worst days on show as blog entries.

The book containing the best three-hundred and sixty-five stories will be arranged to resemble a diary with each story assigned to a different day of the year. Since each account is written as a first person narrative, the book should read from start to finish like a diary written by one single person. The submissions exhibited thus far are largely comical, detailing instances of embarrassment, inconvenience or physical pain. The book is likely to have exactly the same feel, but with "some drama for good measure."^[1] No date has yet been given for publication.

[edit] The Creator

Annus Horribilis was created by the artist Stephen Moles who first made a name for himself with his controversial performance poetry. He is best known as a published writer, but his artistic activity also extends to acting, directing (film and theatre) and performing live music. Annus Horribilis can be seen as a natural development of his previous work, all of which is characterised by a dark sense of humour and a love of experimentation. A mission statement of sorts on his website describes his art as "tragicomic" in nature.^[3]

Dancin' Gabe is a Canadian Entertainer. He is a well known fan of all the sports teams in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has become the unofficial mascot of every major sports team in Winnipeg, making him a household name as well as a city icon.

Alpha is the student film project of Andrew Matlock, scheduled for release in early June 2007. It is set to be roughly 10-30 minutes of pre-rendered game footage. The project is the main element of the 2nd Year Foundation Degree in Games Art and Design at the Norwich School of Art and Design.

The presentation is viewed in first-person through the eyese of protagonist Delphi Smith. The 29-year old English student is drafted into the Terran Armed Forces, a United Nations mobilization against an attacking alien race. The aliens are compromised of a co-existing four species pool from neighbouring solar system Alpha Centauri. Set in the late 2090's, Alpha's modus operandi is that of unbridled realism and first-person interaction with the characters, environments, and objects.

The 48 page script required over 20 voice actors for over 30 speaking character roles. The storyline (displayed in gameplay bursts for the film) takes place over five years; from alien occupation on Earth to a retributive war on Alpha Centauri.

Alpha is being submitted for nomination at the 2007 Elans; the Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts. Student categories for Alpha's submission are Student Animated or Motion Graphic of the Year, Best Original Sound Design / Musical Score for and Animated production or Game, Best Student Art Direction (Game Production), Best Student Writing for and Animated or Game Production, Ready to Rocket, and International Student of the Year Award.

Developer Andrew Matlock (Canadian) is currently attending the Norwich School of Art and Design for an FdA in Games Art and Design. He is progressing to BA Games Art and Design for the 2007/08 school year, and specializing in Writing and Design.

Christian Vandal (born December 29, 1992) is a young actor appearing in Broadway productions and on the Nickelodean series show "Drake and Josh." Vandal was born in Cincinnati and began acting at the age of 6. According to Vandal, his favorite actors include Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio, whom he would like to meet and work with someday. He is currently working in Los Angeles rehearsing for the world premier musical "13" by Jason Robert Brown.

Anthony Bass is a 15 year old magician who got his start on the internet. More specifically, "YouTube". He posted multiple videos of himself performing mindblowing magic which gained him over 3,000 subscribers. Along with over 220 friends on "Myspace", and over 40 subscribers on "LiveVideo", Anthony's popularity is increasing with every waking moment.

On June 2nd, 1992, Robert Anthony Bass was born. Little did he know that he would soon grow to be one of the best magicians in the underground scene. When Anthony was five years old, he was in his trailer park home watching tv. His grandma was watching soap opera's when a David Copperfield special came on. Anthony's grandmother was very interested in prestidigitation, so she stayed on ABC to watch the special. Anthony was amazed. The magic Copperfield performed immediately caught his attention, and inevitably, his future. He immediately began begging his mother to buy him a magic kit he had saw at the store, and eventually, he got his wish. He began practicing the effects included in the kit, and performed them for his family. Of course, they acted interested, but Anthony could tell they weren't. He quit his dreams of magic and went onto other hobbies. He spent seven years chasing a dream of acting. He was obsessed. He felt a thrill like no other when he stepped on stage and performed. This was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, and he strongly believed that. He took acting courses, and was about to get his very own agent, until his family ran out of money to pay for the rest of the courses. "This," Anthony says "was a blessing." While his family was doing whatever they could to pay for the rest of his courses, Anthony saw a David Blaine street magic special on TLC. It was immediate. Anthony fell right back in love with the art of prestidigitation. He began looking for free magic tricks to learn on the internet. He found a few sites, but he realized that the only way to learn quality magic, was to pay for them. He went to the closest magic shop in his area, and bought a few effects. He performed them at home and at school, and was immediately recognized for his unusual talent. He then began performing on the streets, and got even bigger reactions. He was living his dream. He saw that not only was he doing something that others couldn't, but he also got the same thrill that he got when he was acting. But even with the publicity he was getting, he didn't think he was getting enough. He created an account on "YouTube", and that's when his career sky-rocketed. He got the publicity he dreamed of. People loved him. He got requests to make television appearances, he got actual fans. People at his school started asking for his autograph. But soon, his outlook on magic completely changed. He saw that not only did his work bring joy to him, but to others as well. He began performing not only for publicity, but for the art itself. He doesn't do it for fame, or glory, or pride. He does it for one reason, and one reason alone. You. He now not only has an account on "YouTube", but also "Myspace", and "LiveVideo". His popularity level is constantly rising. Now he's continuing his chase of being one of the greatest magicians alive.

George Mavrotas (born April 4, 1967 in Athens) is a former water polo player from Greece. Mavrotas has played 511 times for the Greek team (national record for team sports) and he is among a few water polo players worldwide that has participated in five Olympic Games just one behind the sport legend Manuel Estiarte. His major career achievements is the second place in the World Cup of 1997 as captain of the Greek national team, and the first place in the European Cup also in 1997, with his club Nautical Club of Vouliagmeni. In 1999 he participated in the world selection team. He is a member of the [Hellenic Association of Olympic Winners]. From 2003, he is member of the Greek Anti-Doping Organization. Eszter Várady (full name in Hungarian, including husband's name: Kovátsné Várady Eszter), born 10 May 1953, is a contemporary Hungarian writer of fiction, novels and short stories. Up to now, most of her books have been published under pseudonyms (like for example Peter East, Peter Eastborough or Esther G. Wood). However, in most cases she she gave some hint and let appear her real name as the "translator's" or "co-publisher's" name (see for example this book presentation, where she is mentioned as "fordító", that's translator: entry on www.libri.hu). Alongside writers like István Nemere or Magda Szabó she belongs to the most known and most popular contemporary writers in Hungary. But in comparison with them and despite her popularity in Hungary, gathered in the last decade, up to now her works haven't been translated into other languages. However, this is going to be changed soon, as she is supported at present by the German Steinke-Institut (a German academy dedicated to languages, education and culture and founded in the memory of German writer Udo Steinke), which will, in cooperation with the Steinke-Journal, translate some of her works and promote her in Germany. The most known works of Eszter Várady are "Villámcsapás", "Az örökös", "A hasonmás", "Túl a halálon", "Boldogság életveszélyben" and her recent work "A férfi, aki tetszik nekem", most of them published as "Esther G Wood".

Peter Basel is a well known highschool basketball coach on Long Island in New York. He is currently a gym teacher in the Half Hollow Hills SD. He is the basketball coach for the Half Hollow Hills High School East Boys varsity basketball team. Pete is known for his phrases such as "how many times do you wanna go up and down in 10" or "we can go up and down all night". Pete has a temper problem on the court when calls go against him, and "Big Mac" Golden gets thrown out of games on the last game of the season. Pete was nicknamed Air Basel, during the 2005-2006 season when the facklers and super dupper luper trooper played in the Thunderdome. Team dinners at applebees and fridays are always fun. Running out of the chinese buffet all 20 of us and getting license plates written down...priceless

Zords

• Battleborgs: Zords controlled by the Aquitan Rangers. With Th Ninja zords out of commission and the MMPR children, Th Aquitan Rangers use these zords. They are controlled through telepathy. Thses are the first set of team zords that do not combine to form a megazord. The Aquitan Rangers summon them by throwing coins into the air. Their finishing attack is a pyramid formation where he red battleborg launches into the air and transform into a flame which guts the enemy, destroying them. This attack was only seen once, in the episode "Climb Every Fountain" when it destoyed Slotksy.

• Shogunzords: Witht the Ninja Power Coins destroyed, the Aquitan Rangers powered these zords by themselves. The rangers were only seen piloting them once. (They more of bonded with them using sentai footage from Kakuranger) Mostly, the Shogun zords would simply appear and combine into the Shogun megazord within 4 seconds. Other times, the zords would combine using the footage that the Mighty Morphin' power Rangers used.

• Falconzord- Seen only once after time was turned back and the Ninja Power Coins are destroyed, the Falconzord was summoned to help defeat Hydro Hog in the series finale titled Hoghday Afternoon part 2. The Falconzord combines with the Shogun Megazord to form the Shogun Mega Falconzord, which in turn destroys Hydro Hog (this is the only time where this zord combination destroys a monster)

The Thom Hartmann Show is a weekday radio show on the Air America Radio network hosted by Thom Hartmann. Thom Hartmann's national program, syndicated by Air America Radio, and on the air live daily since March 2003, is carried on radio stations across the USA, daily from noon to 3 pm ET. There is a new wave of fans who refer to Hartmann as Thom "The Hitmann" Hartmann, a tribute to former wrestling superstar Bret "The Hitman" Hart. They feel that Hartmann is a voice for the people, and that he "stands up to the bad guys and fights for law, order, and justice" similar to the way his near-namesake took on rasslin' bad guys in that ring.

Fallen Angelz Entertainment (F.A.E.) is an independent record label based in Detroit,Mi. Originally conceived and founded in 1999 by Kawtion, F.A.E. built a huge street buzz off acid rap with a gangsta twist.

Detroit rapper Dice, who released "The 40 Made Me Do It" on World One/Raw Dogg Records in 1992, was the label's first artist. This album was produced by DJ Mystro of the legendary Detroit hip hop duo Kaos & Mystro. The album was big locally and major labels showed interest in signing Dice. After hearing that Def Jam might be interested in him, Dice asked to be released from his contract so he could explore other avenues to get his music the exposure it needed. Dice was granted his release in the summer of 1993.

In 1994, Dice was introduced to Esham by Dmack aka Dykkon Isaran aka Big Isz. Dmack, who was featured on Dice's "The 40 Made me Do It" album, was able to make the introduction because he went to high school with Esham. After being featured on Mastamind's "LIQUIDDRANO" ep on the song "Bitches Hate Me" and Natas' "Doubelievengod" album on the song "Torture" (both on Esham's Reel Life Productions label), Dice released his second album "Theneighborhoodshittalka" on Reel Life Productions. "Theneighborhoodshittalka" featured sickminded rapper Razzaq and production by Esham and Mystro under his new alias, Lord Maji.on several songs. Dice & Razzaq was also featured on Esham's "Dead Flowerz," but soon left the label because of financial differences.

After a 4 year hiatus, Dice met Fallen Angelz Entertainment CEO Kawtion and struck a deal. On April 11, 2000 Dice's third album "Black Monday" was released. The album featured Razzaq, DJ Lenn Swann and Tha Paypa Boiz as well as production from Lenn Swann, Lord Maji, Kerry Clark and Kawtion. The album sold 3,500 copies in 4 months without a distributor and received press coverage in Urb, Murder Dog, Jam Rag and Real Detroit magazines. In the summer of 2000, Fallen Angelz went to the next level. They linked up with national distributor Southwest Wholesale. Sales grew and the buzz spread like a virus. Unfortunately, Southwest Wholesale filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and went out of business. More bad news followed as Dice decided to leave the label half way through production of his "Red Rain" album amid rumors that he had not been properly compensated for his efforts. Of course, the rumors were proven false after Kawtion produced documentation showing that Dice had not recouped funds advanced to him and still owed the label more projects.

In 2003, Kawtion started Paypa Boi Entertainment (paper boy ent). Arcane, the remaining member of the Fallen Angelz roster, as well as the legendary MC Breed, his cousin Boo Boo Breed and Big Isz began recording as Tha Paypa Boiz. Another major power move Kawtion made was signing on as MC Breed's manager. Throughout this period of time he managed to get Breed Features on Slum Village's major label effort "Detroit Deli," and land him a recording contract with ICP's Psycopathic Records. The plan was for Psycopathic to open an urban label called UmZ. Breed would be the flagship artist, but the month his album was to be released he was arrested for being behind on child support payments totaling over $200,000.

In the face of adversity, Kawtion did the only thing he could do, keep grinding. He became a sales rep for Murder Dog, Rap Fanatic and Street Masters magazines. He also started doing street promotion for Hollywood, Ca based Activate Records. Activate is the home of Chino XL, Spice One, Big Hutch of Above The Law and Thug Lordz. After proving himself to the label, Activate decided to provide worldwide distribution for Fallen Angelz and Paypa Boi entertainment. Kawtion started working as street team in Detroit for Activate Records that is based in North Hollywood, California. In 2006 Activate re-released Dice's "Black Monday" worldwide and released Tha Paypa Boiz "Street News" album features: mc breed and mastamind of natas.

The Whig Theory was the prevailing view of the Presidency in the 19th Century, rejected by some presidents such as Andrew Jackson who saw himself as the “people’s tribune”. Prof. Glennys Farrar is the Director of the Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics at New York University.[1] She received her Ph. D. in theoretical physics from Princeton University in 1971, breaking the gender-barrier in physics at Princeton in the process. She was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study and on the faculties of the California Institute of Technology and Rutgers University before moving to NYU in 1998. Her current research involves ultra-high-energy-cosmic-rays.

A clinical side-effect of taking clomipramine (an tricyclic antidepressent) where the patient experiences a "spontaneous orgasm while yawning." This unusual side effect, which affects both males and females maybe considered adverse or beneficial. Yawngasms strongly influenced adherence.
