 As a young boy, Alec Govi attended Dixie Elementary in Lucas Valley.  there, he held the mile run record, with a time of 6:53.
 After he graduated with top honors, he went to Miller Creek Middle School in Marinwood.  While there, he was honored with top academic and athletic performance.  He also became the subject of the "Alec chant."  Soon after, Alec applied and was accpeted into Marin Catholic High School with honors.  He never ceased to amaze: as a freshman on the varsity Cross-Contry Team, he received 2nd Team All-League and, as a freshman on the varsity Tennis Team, he played number three singles, achieving an 8-3 regular season record.  He did all this while achieving a Grade Point Average of 4.386.
 That summer, he also competed within the top 7 swimmers of Marin County in the Marin Swim League as a member of the Decade Club of the Lucas Valley Lightning. Also, he was a part of the Marin-Sonoma All Star Tennis Team, which got 1st place at the Northern California Sectional Championships at Fresno.  In August, the team got 2nd place at the State tournament. (Note: Northern California is the top location for junior tennis in the country)
  As a sophomore, Govi continued his domination.  On the varsity Cross Country team, he received 1st Team All-League, as well as the team MVP.  At the North Coast Sections meet, he barely missed the cut to move on to the State Championship meet.  In the spring of Govi's sophomore year, he played #1 singles for MC and, as of April 8, 2007, achieved an amazing record of 7-4.  His grade point average sophomore year has not dropped below a 4.3.  
 What is in the future for Alec Govi?  "I'm just gonna roll with the punches, try my hardest, and hope for the best."  Indeed, with fortunate roots, amazing talent, and an unyielding work ethic, Govi has all the tools to become a exceptional American citizen.

The USS LCI(L)-1091 is a World War II Infantry Landing Craft that is currently berthed near the Samoa bridge in Humboldt Bay, California. USS LCI(L)-191 was used as a fishing vessel for many years, but as of 2005 is being restored by the Humboldt Bay Naval Sea/Air Museum.

One of the 24 regional faculties of the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional of Argentina It was created on the September 24th of 1954. In the begining it occuped the Mary O'Graham's instalations, and later the building of the Colegio Nacional. The october 1st of 1961 the national goverment sign the decree (Nº9035) which designate a place on the 60 avenue in the corner with the 124 street in the city of La Plata. But it was in 1966 when the building was innagurated thanks to the help of the goverment of the Provincia de Buenos Aires.

Thomas Raith is a main character in the series The Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher. He is a White Court Vampire, from the House Raith and half-brother of Harry Dresden. They are related through their mother. He feeds off the life-force of his victims, more specifically, lust. This lead to the near-death of Justine, his lover, whom he truly does love. She was weakened into a frail, old woman, and after that, he attempted never to see her again, though he does in White Night.

Maura Derrane was born on Inis Mor, Aran Islands, County Galway, Ireland in 1970. She is a native Irish speaker educated at Gairmscoil Einne and later at Galway Institute of Technology, Galway, Ireland. She worked in journalism for TG4 and RTE(Ireland). Before this that she worked in the UK in marketing and PR.

Her years of presenting aswell as her good looks made her a household name on the TV3's programme Ireland AM. She decided to leave the show in mid 2006 to concentrate on other areas of her life.

She got married to John Deasy(politician) on the 27th May 2005. Bridesmaid for ex-TV3 News colleague Grainne Seoige when she married on September 28, 2002.

On 3 September 1939 a special bureau was established in the legal division of the Wehrmacht in Berlin, made up of older judges, with the task to oversee compliance of the belligerents in world war II with the Hague and Geneva Conventions. The German name of the bureau was the Wehrmacht Untersuchungsstelle fuer Verletzungen des Voelkerrechts, or the German Investigation Bureau on violations of international law. The Germans had the same unit in the Prussian War Ministry during world war I, and the deputy chief of the WWI unit, Judge Johannes Goldsche from Berlin, became the chief for the duration of the Wehrmacht Bureau until its dissolution in April 1945. This bureau was not a German invention, and similar bureaus were established by the Allies, notably the United States War Crimes Office and the United Nations War Crimes Commission.

The records of this bureau were kept in Berlin until 1943 and later transferred to Torgau and Langensalza, where they were captured by the United States Army and taken to the National Archives in Washington, where they were classified. Upon declassification the records were returned to Germany in 1973 and declassified. Only approximately half of the Bureau's records survived the war, and the 226 extant volumes are open for research at the Bundesarchiv-Militaerarchiv in Freiburg in Breisgau.

The first scholar to examine the records was the American lawyer and historian Alfred de Zayas, who headed a working group on international law at the University of Goettingen (Arbeitsgruppe Kriegsvoelkerrecht). In the years 1976-1979, together with a team of scholars including Dr. Walter Rabus, law lecturer at the University of Amsterdam, de Zayas went through the entire records and consulted the relevant war diaries and other military sources in the German Archives, in the National Archives in Washington, Public Record Office in London and Swiss Federal Archives in Bern. The team interviewed some 150 German military judges who had been involved in the wartime investigations and some 150 witnesses who had given sworn testimony during the war. The project was anchored at the Institut fuer Voelkerrecht der Universitaet Goettingen and financed by the Deutsche Forschungs Gemeinschaft. Two international conferences were held to discuss the progress of the de Zayas working group. One conference was held 1977 at the Institute of International Law in Goettingen, hosted by its then director Professor Dr. Dietrich Rauschning. The other was held in 1978 at the Institute of International law in Cologne, hosted by its then director Professor Dr. Ignaz Seidl Hohenfeldern. The Conferences were attended by German and international historians, and by a number of the judges and witnesses who had participated in the wartime investigations.

The results were published in book form in November 1979 under the title "Die Wehrmacht Untersuchungsstelle fuer Verletzungen des Voelkerrechts. Deutsche Ermittlungen ueber alliierte Voelkerrechtsverletzungen im Zweiten Weltkrieg" by Universitas/Langen Mueller Verlag in Munich. The first part of the book is devoted the the creation and working methods of the bureau. The second part contains case-studies of alleged Allied war crimes, including the massacre of German civilians at Bromberg on 3 September 1939, the killing of German POWs in Broniki, Feodosia, Grischino, the liquidation of Ukrainian nationalists by the Soviet NKWD in Lviv, Dubno, Winnitza, the killing of Polish officers by the NKVD in Katyn, the sinking of the German hospital ship "Tuebingen" by British planes in 1944, etc.

The book gave rise to a huge controversy in Germany and received extensive reviews in the media. Der Spiegel devoted it a five-page positive article, Die Zeit a half a page positive review, Benjamin Ferencz the American Nuremberg Prosecutor gave it a positive 3-page review in the American Journal of International Law, Profesor Roeling of Groening Univesity and former Judge at the Tokyo War Crimes Trials gave it a full-page positive review in the daily Trouw, the ARD/WDR (German channel 1) ran a two-part prime-time documentary on it (available as DVD by Polar Films), etc. The book quickly became a bestseller and several paperback editions were published by Heyne and Ullstein. The seventh revised and enlarged edition was published in 2000.

The American version of the book appeared ten years later, published by the University of Nebraska Press, with a preface by Professor Howard Levie of the Naval War College in Newport. It received a positive review in the American Journal of International Law by Professor Detlef Vagts, a positive review in the Cambridge Law Journal by Professor Christopher Greenwood, a positive review in Archiv des Voelkerrechts by Professor Dieter Fleck. De Zayas delivered lectures a numerous universities in Germany, the Netherlands and England, including at All Souls College, Oxford, which were positively reflected in the respective media. He was interviewed by CNN in 1990 concerning the functions of the Wehrmacht bureau, and in particular its disclosures with regard to Katyn.

The book retains its relevance today, as it has wide implications about war crimes and impunity. It has been cited by many experts and journalists in connection with disclosures of war crimes by the US Army in Vietnam and Iraq, by France in Algeria, by the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. It raises many questions about the necessity to have independent investigations and avoid cover-up of war crimes. Many topics for dissertations can be drawn from this book. The fourth revised and enlarged English edition was published by Picton Press in Rockland, Maine 2000.

Mick Rutherford was born Michael Adcock in Banbury, Oxfordshire on January 18th 1949.

At the age of 13 he heard The Beatles and was hooked on music and in 1963 joined his first band, The Black Diamonds. During these early years he learned his trade as a singer and after leaving his first band to join The Voyds he was signed to C.B.S. Records. At his first ever recording session, while he was recording his first single, a man painted the studio.

In the mid '60's he spent 2 years as part of Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated, toured with Jimi Hendrix and began to gain a reputation as a great British blues singer.

The 70's saw him in various bands and near the end of the decade recorded 'Saga of the Ice King' which (April 2007 Record Collector Magazine) included as one of the rarest 100 progressive records.

The 80's saw his career slide, despite continuing to tour with various line ups and in 1991 he officially retired from the music business.

However, in 1995 he formed The Mick Rutherford Band and embarked on one of his best periods since the mid 60's, playing Donnington Park and many festivals (Colne Blues Festival, Burnley Blues Festival and Skegness rock and blues weekend)

He signed to Blues Matters Records in 2005 and during October 2006 had a USA number 14 hit with 'Spirit in the Sky'.

His current band include Paul Westmoreland (ex Bluesology) and Carl Axon (ex Doctor and The Medics)

Mobile communication system method problems such as Multipath Propagation (MPP) and Doppler Effect (DE) have deteriorated in effectiveness in recent times. This deterioration can be seen today in the increase of frequency by up to 10 GHz, and in vehicle speeds of up to 300 km/h. The OFDMA method combined with MPP offers slight improvement, but creates new difficulties consisting of orthogonality disturbance and channel changing during a long symbol. To date, these problems are dealt with through help channel estimations, pilot signals transmitting and through help effective Error Correction Codes. However, these methods significantly reduce system frequency efficiency, sometimes even doubling the reduction in efficiency. Below is a proposal for an innovative mobile communication system. This informational transmitting signal system includes data about changing channel conditions without the use of redundancy. The main idea of FBS system is as follows. Let us have OFDMA system with N carriers and with MPSK or MQAM modulation. We can take transmitting bits on two first carriers and transmit them on one carrier with 2MPSK or 2MQAM modulation. For this signal we have two orthogonal components I and Q. Let us transmit I and Q values N times on N carriers with different signs (+ or -), so that the signs are changed with respect to the corresponding entries of the N-th order Walsh-Hadamard matrix. Due to orthogonality of Walsh function, we can transmit some signals on the same carriers. It can be shown that one can transmit the entire information in OFDMA using FBS method in the same frequency band and approximately with the same power. FBS decoding process is as follows: I and Q components signs are changed again with respect to the same Walsh-Hadamard matrix, and resulting I and Q values in N carriers are summed up and divided by N. In this case all channel influences are compensated. Indeed, for the case N=2, taken Walsh function (1,-1), value I (or Q) is transmitted twice as (I, –I). As the result of channel influences , the values become (I +, - I + ). After decoding we obtain ½[ (I + ) +(-1) (-I + )] = I. Thus, variation in channel signals is compensated during the decoding process. Only regular synch signals (header) in the beginning of a long frame are transmitted, but channel estimation signals or pilot signals are not transmitted. In difficult situation with strong MPP and DE, FBS method allows doubling throughput.

Language Coaching is a term which normally refers to English language learning and teaching but with a special emphasis on a coach encouraging learner independence or autonomous learning in higher-level learners of the language. As a greater proportion of the globalised world uses English as a lingua franca, there are also greater numbers of competent users of English who benefit more from a coach providing language support than a teacher in the traditional sense. Ghazi Abdul Qayyum Shaheed

It was beginning of the year 1933. The province of Sindh was included in Bombay. In those days Natthu Raam, secretary of “Arya Samaj” Hyderabad Singh published a book named “History of Islam”. In this book, he displayed severe impudence to the glory of the most sacred and magnificent Lord and Chief of both the worlds (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam). A great anxiety and restlessness caused in Muslims due to publication of this book. Being affected by the reaction, the British Government confiscated the book and a lawsuit was instituted against Natthu Raam in the court where he was imposed a nominal penalty and one year imprisonment. This leniency in justice and punishment encouraged Natthu Raam and he registered an appeal in the court of judicial commission V.M. Fairas against the decision of lower court. The Commissioner’s court approved his appeal for hearing and set the abuser of the messenger (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) free on bail. The Muslims were shocked largely by this. They were very much perturbed and agitated and became thoughtful about how to stop this sedition of contempt in the grace of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) and obstruct it altogether. A young man named Abdul Qayuum, resident of district Hazara, who used to drive a Victoria cart in Karachi, listened to detail of the incident in a mosque of Juna Market. Coming to know that a Hindu has committed disgrace in the honor of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) his grief and anxiety became limitless. It was September 1934. Hearing of the appeal of accused Natthu Raam in contempt case of prophet hood was going on in Karachi court. The Jury was consisting of two British judges. The courtroom was full of advocates and citizens. Ghazi Abdul Qayuum was sitting Calm and cool with extreme patience on the chair parallel and besides Natthu Raam along with other spectators behind the row of advocates. During the process of hearing of the case, all of a sudden he charred on Natthu Raam with his sharp knife making two attempts on his neck. Natthu Raam cried loudly due to knife injurious, then stumbled, and fell down on the ground. Ghazi Abdul Qayuum did not do even a slight effort to run away or escape from hold of police. Rather he presented himself to police for apprehension willingly and happily. The British Judge came down from the dais and asked him, “Why did you kill this man?” Ghazi Abdul Qayuum, pointing towards the photograph of George V in the court, replied. This is the photograph of your king. Won’t you kill the person who dares to disgrace your king? This Hindu had dared to contempt in the honor of Lord and Shahanshah (King of the Kings) (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam), which my spirit of modesty could not tolerate. Ghazi Abdul Qayuum was prosecuted. He confessed. At last, the Judge announced death punishment for him. On hearing the decision Ghazi Abdul Qayuum said, “Mr. Justice! I am thankful to you that you awarded me death punishment. This single life is not in any count. Had I possessed laces of lives, I would have sacrificed them for the dignity of the Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam).” An appeal was filed in high court against this decision. A large number of pious Muslims came forward for legal defense of Ghazi Abdul Qayuum. Syed Muhammad Aslam, bar-at-law, had the facility to follow and plead Abdul Qayuum. However, this savior of honor (Abdul Qayuum) made it clear to the legal advisor in the first meeting that he would not spoil his future life by saying anything against his confession statement in the lower court. Syed Muhammad Aslam kept on preparing the case and requested to summon the prominent scholars of the country like Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Maulana Abu-al-Kalam Azad, Maulana Zafar Ali Khan as witness so that they elaborate the Islamic view point but the court turned down this request. ; The whole defense was based on the point that; “It is faith and belief of a Muslim that if someone dares to be insolent or attacks the honor of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) he is bound to kill him.” Hearing of the appeal took place in front of Justice Dadibametha and nine members of Jury. The jury consisted of six British, 2 Parsi and 1 Gawani Christian members. A large gathering of about 25000 Muslims was present outside the court to listen the decision. After the reasoning of advocate general, the pleader of Ghazi Abdul Qayuum, Syed Muhammad Aslam elaborated the defense viewpoint. He discussed the basic points of the case and the stimulants that irritated to commit the murder supported by arguments for three hours. Some points of his arguments (speech) were so important that they are being written with golden words in the history of law and justice. While elaborating the legal meanings of provocation he raised the point, “the question is not that Abdul Qayuum’s step in against the law of the country. Rather we have to consider that Abdul Qayuum has performed this attempt in a state of severe provocation. Then why should he not be awarded minimum punishment for which section 302 has made provision under the law. When the existing law provides for remission to a murderer caused by provocation in case of small piece of land or in matter of a women, then why the same provision of law for leniency is not accepted in case of Abdul Qayuum. Whereas there can be no provocation of adverse nature than attack on the prestige and honor of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) for a Muslim.” During the speech of the defense lawyer a judge intervened saying, “Will your elaboration of the point, and engrave the communal tension?” Syed Muhammad Aslam, at this moment, replied, “Worthy Judge! Muslims have become tired of advising the government and the Hindu majority about the Status and position of feeling of love and affection with the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) and the emotional state of regard in this regard. However, both have paid no heed to it. Now, in this court, I have the opportunity to elaborate that till the time a single Muslim is alive, he will definitely such and finish the voice and power raised against the honor and respect of the prophet’s mission and the prophet hood (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam). In this regard a Muslim does not care for penal code and the gallows board.” Had the legal point, raised by Syed Muhammad Aslam in elaboration of the meanings of provocation in relation to murder attempt, been accepted, the contemptible instigation of attacking or being insolent to the honor and grace of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) would have been finished for ever and non one would haven even thought of Allah intrepidity for ever, but the court turned down this appeal and death punishment to Ghazi Abdul Qayuum was maintained. This was a time of test for passionate and perturbed Muslims. At last in 1936, Muslims of Karachi decided to send a delegation to Allama Iqbal — the philosopher of Ummah, in Lahore. The delegation comprising Molvi Sanaullah, Abdul Khaliq and Hajji Abdul Aziz reached Lahore. They met Allama Iqbal at his residence on McLeod road and proclaimed the complete detail of the case. At the end, they requested him to meet the Viceroy and convince him to change the death punishment of Ghazi Abdul Qayuum into life imprisonment, utilizing his influence. The delegation insisted him, if he paid attention and tried, it hoped that Indian government would approve the petition of mercy for Ghazi Abdul Qayuum. After listening to the conversation of the delegation, Allama Iqbal kept quiet for about 10 minutes. He drowned in deep thinking. The delegation was waiting anxiously being hopeful for a positive answer as the case of one lover of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) was with the other lover of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam). At last, this calmness broken by the voice of Allama Iqbal. He asked the delegation, “Has Abdul Qayuum become infirm and frail?” The members of the delegation replied, “No, he has confessed his attempt in every court. Neither he has changed his statement nor he displayed and treachery or deceitfulness. He openly says, “I have bought martyrdom (Shahadat). Do not try to save me from the gallows board. On hearing this conversation from the delegation, Allama’s face sparkled. He said in a displeased tone, “When he is saying he has bought Shahadat (martyr) then how can I come in the way of his reward. Do you want me to flatter viceroy for a Muslim whom if remains alive are Ghazi (conqueror), and if died, is Shaheed (martyr)?” Allama’s tone was so sharp and firm that the members of delegation could not dare to say anything. The delegation returned to Karachi. The day Ghazi Abdul Qayuum hanged, it was worth memorizing in the history of Karachi the passions, and anxiety of the Muslims of Karachi was such that every one had the desire of having being martyred. The incidents of Ghazi Illm Din in Lahore and Ghazi Abdul Qayuum in Karachi had a great impact on Allama Iqbal. He has narrated his cordial feelings in following verses. However, they have been published in “Zarb-e-Kaleem” under the heading “Lahore and Karachi” but their meanings become prominent in the background of request for mercy petition for Ghazi Abdul Qayuum.

Found in Belgium, they have been around for more than 10 years. Regular tours in the USA and Europe and appearance on a slew of bigger punk festivals gained them a strong following. They play streetpunk or street rock n' roll like english bands did it in the mid eighties.

                      The Life of: Tahjon Tyree Dennis

Tahjon Tyree Dennis was born on June 12, 1990, in Bridgeport, CT. Growing up was a hard life for him. He never knew his father John Ruffin. His Mother Pamela Dennis raised him as a single parent but she also had help from his grandmother Jessie Smith and Uncle Darrin "Keith" Dennis. At the age of 9, Tahjon then had a little brother by the name of Isaiah Hargrove and a step-father named Lewis Bennett. Tahjon also moved from Bridgeport to Branford where he started to play football. In his very first game Tahjon got his first carry of the season and broke 80 yards down the sideline but got caught at the 1 yard line. Since then Tahjon has pride himself to never ever get caught again. Now Tahjon lives in Jacksonville, Florida with his mother, step-father, younger brothers(3)[Isaiah, Matthew Bennett, Myles Bennett]. Tahjon is now 16 going on 17 in June and he's the starting fullback at First Coast High School. He wears the number 33 because his teamates always called him the baby Greg Jones. Tahjon but teammates and friends at his school calls him "Tay" is now a Division I recruit at his school. He plans on attending the University of South Carolina or the University of Connecticut, and wants to major in Criminal Justice. Tahjon Tyree Dennis is a success story waiting to happen, so when he makes it big in life dont be surprise.

Established in Ireland in 2005, the IRRT provides Industrial Relations postgraduate research scholarships in third level institutions. The IRRT was established as a educational Registered Chairty to provide grants and bursaries to encourgage and support postgraduate research in Industrial Relations in Ireland. The IRRT is based as a research centre in the Business School, Trinity College, Dublin and oversight is maintained by 14 independent Trustees, who select research 'themes' each year which will be financially supported by the Trust. David Crichton (born October 20, 1983) is a professional freestyle skier and former member of the Canadian National Development Ski Team for mogul skiing. David Crichton was born in Ottawa, Ontario and grew up in the suburb of Manotick, Ontario. He got into skiing at age 6, which was the same time his older brothers Michael and Mark began skiing. Over the following years, various family vacations to Vermont for spring break got the family hooked on freestyle mogul skiing. Eventually the whole family, including youngest sister Jennifer, were participating in mogul competitions throughout eastern Canada on a regular basis over the course of the whole winter. By age 13, and after years of keeping up with them, David surpassed his older brothers in skiing ability.

As a freestyle mogul competitor, David won the 1999 Junior National Championships. He was only 15 years old at the time, which meant he had defeated many competitors as old as 19 years old to take that title. Also during that season David was a finalist in a Nor-Am moguls competition, as well as a bronze medallist at the Canada Winter Games in moguls. It was no surprise that at the end of the 1999 winter David was called up to the Canadian National Development Ski Team for moguls. As a 15 year old, he was one of the youngest ever to join the team.

Although David enjoyed competitive moguls very much, the sport of freestyle skiing was rapidly changing, and his true passion was with new school freestyle skiing, including terrain park, halfpipe skiing and urban rails. In 2001 David won the World Skiing Invitational (WSI) slopestyle event in Whistler, and placed third in the WSI big air event. In 2002, David placed third in both the halfpipe and big air events at the US Freeskiing Open in Vail, and won the best hit event at the 2003 WSI. In 2004, David won the US Open halfpipe event, and was also crowned world champion at the World Superpipe Championships in Utah. Over 2000-2002, David consistently won numerous Molson Snow Jam quarterpipe events across North America, as well as other smaller-scale events.

In addition to the above, David has appeared in many ski films by such companies as Poorboyz Productions, Level One Productions, TGR Productions and Aggressive Instincts Productions. His segments in Level One's "Forward", Poorboyz's "Ready Fire Aim", and Aggressive Instincts' "Guinea Pigs" are all noteworthy. Over many years, David has appeared in magazines such as FREEZE, Freeskier and SBC Skier, and has had full-length feature articles written about him and his accomplishments in some of those magazines.

David's sponsors over the years include Dynastar, Look, Lange, DNA, Spy, and numerous others. Dynastar and Spy each made signature pro model skis and goggles, respectively, in David's name.

Raise The Stakes is a band from Glasgow, Scotland who formed in late 2006. The band conisits of four school chums who all attend Mearns Castle High School in Newton Mearns - Mark Taylor (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, keyboard), Chris "Chewitt" Hewitt (Lead Guitar, Drums), Dani Doran (Bass Guitar) and Liam Horn (Drummer, rhythm guitar). Although almost completely unknown at the moment, Raise The Stakes can easily be identified through the whiny, nasal voice of the lead singer, Mark. The band are recently back from the recording studio with their first demo cd which can be heard on their MySpace website.

Born 23 January 1984 to father John Myers and mother Deb Myers. Myers is one of Australia's best freestyle skiers.

Myers has three siblings; a sister, Alexandra as well as two brothers, Christopher and Nicholas.

Tim grew up in Tumut in New South Wales Australia. Starting his career on skis at Selwyn snowfield which was owned, at that time, by his father. After an illustrious career as a junior downhill skier he progressed to Freestyle skiing after completing his education at Barker College and Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, where he studied Television production.

Myers' transition to freestyle skier was a natural progression from the restrictive downhill programs of his youth. Working as editor for all Channel Nine broadcasts at Perisher Blue ski resort Myers was able to fully embrace his sport. Following a successful tour of duty with the Dynastar team to Mammoth in California in 2005 where he secured engagements in commercials for Red Bull and Snickers Myers returned to the US in 2006 with the intention that it would be his final season. However, when the season was interupted midway through the Australian winter by a horrific gash to his left leg he decided to push on another year.

Myers has appeared in several publications including the definitive skiing yearbook, Powderhound.

Currently Myers is on tour at Mammoth, California.

The Cladoelache is a fossil that was discovered and is considered to be the oldest ancestor of sharks. It is believed to have existed 350 million years ago, 100 million years before dinasours were said to have roamed the earth.

Jumpstart for Young Children is a nonprofit organization based out of Boston, MA, working toward the day every children enters school prepared to succeed. Originated in 1993 at Yale University, Jumpstart now boasts strong corporate sponsorship partners in Starbucks, American Eagle, and Pearson. Recruiting and training college students across the country to pair them up with low-income students to develop skills in language, literacy, and social initiative. The organization has a long track record of developing successful partnerships with preschools in over 19 states and serves approximately 12,000 children ages 3-5 on a yearly basis.

The program has been recognized for its achievements in the field of early literacy. For example, FastCompany in 2004 rated Jumpstart among the top groups changing the world today. These organizations were selected for their entrepreneurship, innovation, social impact, aspiration, and sustainability. Now, for the 4th year in a row, Jumpstart was "[s]elected for using business acumen to solve America's early education crisis, Jumpstart earns the Fast Company/Monitor Group Social Capitalist Award." Every year since 2002, a Corps Members (as the college students trained by Jumpstart are referred) has been bestowed with the Volunteer Service Award by President Bush.

In 2006, Jumpstart published a new edition of The Little Engine that Could in collaboration with Pearson. This event took advantage of Jumpstart's extensive national network to launch the largest instance of young children reading the same book at the same time. When over 100,000 children sat down to read this book, Jumpstart received extensive media attention, especially in part thanks to the Today Show's participation in the event.
