Talk:Aortic valve

This sentence is dubious and without reference: The aortic sinuses help in closure of the valve by creating backflow eddies. I would like to delete it. --Ekko 18:53, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- This is just getting worse: Opening of the aortic valves blocks coronary artery attachments, tranisiently reducing myocardial perfusion. ? I've learned that the reason for systolic non-flow in the coronaries is the elevated pressure in the myocardium, thus no pressure gradient between aorta and myocardium in early systole. And no pressure gradient => no flow. This is called extracoronary resistance. See a basic text as Berne & Levy: Cardiovascular Physiology. --Ekko 07:25, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
