[edit] Notability of High Court Express

A tag has been placed on High Court Express, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. iN FACT i POINTED OUT THAT THERE IS NO SUCH TARIN WITH THIS NAME. tHE CORRECT NAME IS mARATHWADA EXPRESS. LOOK AT THE ARTICE STUB i HAVE FILLED IN. PLEASE DO NOT INSULT EXTENSIVE KNOELDGE OF ANILPED ON iNDIAN RAILWAYS. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND EDITING TECHNOLOGY BUT CAN ALONE WRITE ARTICLES ON 50 TRAINS. --Anilped 18:55, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 18:30, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Ditto for East Coast Express. --Finngall talk 18:32, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

If there is no such train with a given name, then why in the world should there be an article whose sole purpose is to say so? --Finngall talk 18:58, 9 May 2007 (UTC) THE ONLY PURPOSE WAS TO CORRECT THE ENTRY IN VIKIPEDIA OF THE NAME HIGH COURT EXPRESS. i HAVE WRITTEN COMPLETE SCHEDULE OF THE TRAIN AND IT'S AUTHENTIC NAME "mARATHWADA EXPRESS". THE TRAIN IS MORE POPULARLY KNOWN AS HIGHCOURT EXPRESS. aBOUT GULBARGA EXPRESS I WROTE A LINE TO INFORM THAT NO SUCH TARAIN EXISTS. iF THERE IS A WRONG ENTRY ON THE FICTIOUS TRAIN NAME SOMEBODY MUST POINT OUT IT BY A LINE TO vIKIPEDIA. --Anilped 19:02, 9 May 2007 (UTC) THYE INFORMATION ABOUR EAST COAST EXPRESS IS IMPORTANT AS PROSPECTIVE TRAVELER WILL BE ALERTE4D THATNTHERE IS A FASTER TRAIN fALAKNUMA AVAILABLE. mANY TRAVELERS ARE NOT AWARE. eAST COAST IS ALSO AN IMPORTANT TRAIN . i KNO MVIRUALLY EVERY TRAIN IN INDIA AND IT'S ROUGH SCHEDULE --Anilped 19:04, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

First of all, you need to turn off your capslock.
  • Please keep in mind that Wikipedia is a general-purpose encyclopedia with a world-wide readership. It is not a random repository of information. The inclusion of schedules is discouraged because thay can be ever-changing and therefore difficult to maintain, and because they are completely irrelevant to an average reader. (They may be better-placed over on Wikitravel, which is more specifically devoted to travel information.)
  • The subjects of articles are supposed to meet certain notability guidelines, and there were no indications of notability in most of these articles. Further, while I respect your knowledge of the Indian rail system, all articles should contain references to reliable sources that can be looked up independently. They should also maintain a neutral point of view, so personal opinions or reports of "passengers are clamoring for" something should be avoided.
  • Finally, Please refer to Wikipedia's Manual of Style which gives the guidelines on proper formatting of articles.
Again, I respect your knowledge, and I'm not trying to discourage you from contributing here. I encourage you to continue adding to the knowledge base here. But your contributions do need to comply with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and I strongly encourage you to read these policies before creating any more new articles. Thank you. --Finngall talk 19:29, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gulbarga Express

A tag has been placed on Gulbarga Express, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to [[Wikipedia:Reliable {{sources|reliable sources]] that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 18:31, 9 May 2007 (UTC) the schedules are given in vikipedia for many trains and hence I have added a few schedules. I also feel that thee should be no entry called gulbarga express,as there is no such train. since i found the entry Gulbarga express in vikipedia I just added a knowledge that no such entry exists. Probably the person (not me0 who created such an entry has in mind the train Basava express ( newly introduced) . As regards high-court express the train with the true name "marathwada express) is a lifeline of the region "Marathwada". hence it satisfies notability criterion. Many travelers visit Nanded and Aurangabad. the will look for schedules. any way schedules for many trains are entered by others. Vikipedia also carried wrong information mentioning Janshatabdi express to Madgaon as second fastest train of India.I corrected it. On that route chargable distance is 1 1/3 times actual distance. Also there are some demands of passengers reflected in media ( it is difficult to cite exact date) for example the demand that Hutatma express be extended to Mumbai is voiced in the editorial of the most widely circulated daily "loksatta" a couple of years ago. i have a superb memory and especially for matters relating Indian railways. the information given by me in most cases will be more authentic than the General managers of railway zones. --Anilped 16:03, 10 May 2007 (UTC) Secondly many of the articles and schedules are existent in vikipedia before i added important points to them and corrected entries. there was a grossly incorrect entry that hussainsagar express has 26 coaches. it has only 18 coaches. There was another misleading info that 6011/6012 chennai express runs with speed of 120 kms. It never exceeds the speed 80 kms. In fact for some years now there is new superfast 2163/2164 chennai exprees from dadar. i found it necessary to add a reference to it in 6011/6012 express. infact the notability of 6011/6012 is in question and this article should have been deleted . It is not even named train.I find this article for last 2 yeras. i wonder how comw nobody questioned these mistakes and these articles. Is there a grupism in Vikipedia? i am eager to get a feedback on this edit. --Anilped 16:09, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Signatures

Do not sign your contributions within articles. Signatures are to be used on the talk pages of article, not on the articles themselves. --Finngall talk 18:37, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Please refrain from creating inappropriate pages such as High Court Express. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. --Finngall talk 18:41, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to ignore our policies by introducing inappropriate pages, such as Overnight Express, to Wikipedia, you will be blocked. --Finngall talk 18:46, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

You are under wring imporession . the page overnight express is not introduced by me. In fact the entry should be deleted. there is no such tarin in India. i want to point it out. You are under wrong impression. even i was shocked when i found names likre gulbarga express overnight express in Vikipedia. I have signed all my postings.--Anilped 16:12, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

  • First, to repeat myself: Do not sign your changes within actual articles. It's encouraged on talk pages, but I've had to go around to nearly every article you've edited to clean up the signatures.
  • Second, there was no article on Overnight Express until you created it. A link to a non-existent article may have existed on the List of Indian trains, but that's all. Links to non-existent articles are red, links to existing articles are blue. A better course would have been to simply delete the link from the list, but if I were you, I would try to discuss such a change on Talk:List of Indian trains before deleting any links. --Finngall talk 16:33, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank u! I was not knowing how to delete link. i did not want to create an article but to point out that no such train gulbarga express exists. my info is authentic. my native place is 50 miles away dfrom Gyulbarga. Also there is no such ntrain as overnight express. as i have pointed out people have given in wrong info about 6011/6012 chennai express, No of coaches of hussainsagar express sped of Janshatabdi express, which is just taken from popular talk. I have corrected and given correct info as pointed out in eariler talks today. please do not discourage me. I think i can single handedly correct 20% of wrong info on the Indian trains in Vikipedia. I am surprised that you have not noticed for wrong not notable info on above topics existing for a yer at least and misled travelers.--Anilped 16:40, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm certainly not trying to discourage you. I have no knowledge of the Indian rail system myself (except that I own a board game called "India Rails"--more info can be found here--it's a fun game) and I wouldn't recognize the factual errors in these articles if they jumped up and bit me in the face. I am absolutely not questioning the factual accuracy of your changes or the good faith of your contributions. My concerns here are more general in nature--about formatting (the signature issue), attribution (nothing wrong with personal knowledge, but if you can back up your changes using reliable, published sources and provide references to these, it would be far better), and notability. Your articles came to to my attention when I was patrolling the list of newly-created pages looking for vandalism, spam, and other candidates for speedy deletion, and after finding one of those articles, I followed up by looking at the rest of your contributions as well. I found additions and changes that were not in line with Wikipedia's policies, and my efforts here were an attempt to correct these. I thank you for your patience and understanding. --Finngall talk 17:30, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] High Court Express

I deleted this when you recreated it because it had only one sentence, and I couldn't figure out what the article was supposed to be about. However, I checked the deletion logs, and I've restored the original version of the article, here. I've fixed up the presentation and grammar, but you still need to add references to the article. Read WP:ATT for more information about this. If you don't improve the article soon, it will probably get deleted again. Walton Need some help? 18:18, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Udyog Nagari Express

I noticed you created another similar article, on Udyog Nagari Express. Since it provides very little context or explanation, it will be speedy deleted soon unless you expand it and add some sources. WaltonAssistance! 16:28, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
