Anita Carey (born April 16, 1948 in Halifax, West Yorkshire) is an English actress, currently starring in the daytime drama Doctors.

Carey has had starring roles in British television dramas since the 1970s.
Anita Carey trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. ([1]) Some of her early roles were in programmes such as Z Cars, Dixon Of Dock Green, I Didn't Know You Cared and Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads. ([2])Until recently, she was best known for her role in British Soap Coronation Street as Joyce Smedley, a role she played from 1996 - 1997. ([3])
Anita lives with actor/director Mark Wing-Davey. ([4]) Carey has played the role of receptionist Vivien March in Doctors since May 2007. ([5]) Anita also did a small role as a voice actor playing Venat in the video game Final Fantasy XII.
