Talk:Anglo-Persian Oil Company
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Where does this information come from?
"At the time, the British were taking 85% of Iranian oil profits."
I'm doing an essay on the oil crisis and need to know the source that this was taken from.
I don't know if the editor of the article got his info from this book, but the statistic you are referring to is given in Stephen Kinzer's "All the Shah's Men".
This is an excellent book on the subject. 66.159.144.155 15:06, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Why is the neutrality tag on the article? Abe Froman 22:19, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I think to make the Article more neutral and credible one should take out references to any CIA coupe which has always proven to be unconfirmed. Especially because the recent declassified documents, whilst providing evidence of CIA backed Coupes in other countries around the globe, provided no information nor evidence of CIA involvment in the 1953 coupe against Mossadegh led by the much trusted and revered General Zahedi(retired) and colonel Nassiri of the Imperial Guard.
It is a sad story of course as Mossadegh had been in politics for 30 years, was trusted and respected by Reza Shah(I) who was reported to have entrusted his 21 year old son to Mossadegh's 'wisdom' durimg his abdication.
I guess power does change some people.

The CIA planner Donald Wilber of the coup detailed how the plan came about, its purpose, its reasons, and its results in a very detailed internal memo for the CIA. If the CIA aren't disputing their involvement in the coup, why should Wikipedia? I suggest the neutrality tag be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.217.145 (talk) 06:29, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
