The founder of amorphica (amorphica design research office) Aaron Gutierrez is an architect born in Baja California, Mexico and practices in California, and also his native State of Baja California. amorphica was established in 1999 and since has been an inspirational source for architects, artists and designers in general. amorphica has won a number of competitions world-wide and has also been named one of the leading multi-disciplinary design firms in the world by ID Magazine in January of 2003. amorphica has concentrated in building design and construction, installation design, user experience design, 3-dimensional computer environments, urban design guidelines for several cities in California and Baja California. Located in San Diego, California, amorphica has worked with clients in both California [USA] to Baja California [Mexico]. In the United States, amorphica has executed projects for California State Parks and Recreation, the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), as well as various other private commercial and residential clients. In Mexico, amorphica has produced projects for the government of Baja California, as well as commercial, institutional and residential clients. In 2005, amorphica built two pavilions and information centers for InSITE 05 in both the city of San Diego at Balboa Park and in the city of Tijuana at The Tijuana Cultural Center, (CECUT).
