Mohamed Amine Chermiti (born December 26, 1987 in Tunis) is a Striker currently (as of 2007) playing for the in Tunisian Football team Étoile du Sahel. He also played for Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise.
Chermiti has been mentioned as one of the African players of the year due to his performance in the African Champions League, where he scored eight goals in the tournament. He is credited for Etoile's superb performance in the Champions League.
Chermiti is known for his pace, touch, skill and excellent brain on the pitch. He is not an out-and-out striker but more of a second striker, however a proflific goalscorer to date. Chermiti regularly drifts out to the wings to use his pace to good affect and create chances for the team and is used through the centre on counter attacks where again his pace comes in to play.
Chermiti has been labelled the Diego Maradona of Tunisia because of his attributes.
Chermiti has been scouted by Olympique Marseille of France, FC Zurich of Switzerland and Hamburg of Germany along with others such as AFC Ajax, Trabzonspor, Arsenal FC, FC Porto, Juventus, Newcastle United and reported interest from FC Barcelona.
