American McGee's Grimm is an upcoming 24-part episodic game series based upon Grimm's Fairy Tales, developed by Spicy Horse and to be distributed online by GameTap starting prospectively in Spring of 2008. Grimm will resemble the warped fairy-tale style of American McGee's Alice, and will be written and executive-produced by the same person, R. J. Berg. The original announcement was made in the June 2007 issue of PC Gamer.[1] In a recent interview with GameSpot, American said that he would like to put this game on Xbox Live and may release it in retail form. In the game you'll help a person named Grimm return the darkness to fairy tales.
Spicy Horse Games is using Unreal Engine 3 technology for American McGee's Grimm.[2]
There are currently 24 episodes planned for Grimm and it has been announced that they will be approximately half an hour in length. The game has been referred to as "highly accessible" and American has commented that the game experience shares a similarity with Katamari Damacy. Current episodes known are:[citation needed]
1. The Pied Piper
2. Little Red Riding Hood
3. Cinderella
4. Jack and the Beanstalk
