Américo Brasiliense
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Américo Brasiliense is a Brazilian city in the state of São Paulo. The population in 2004 was 32,504. The area is 132.832 km².
This city is also known as Cidade Doçura ("sweetness city"), because its perimeter is surrounded by sugar cane plantations, which form the basis for its economy. This is supported by cheap labor from immigrants from northeastern states such as Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia.
Many people often go to a club named Caneco 90 to dance pagode on Sunday nights, while others stay in the town hall's public squares or visit the town hall's fast-food restaurant.
