The score to the movie Aliens composed by James Horner, released in 1987, was one of his first big hollywood scores, he was relatively unknown when it was released; the score was cut up and cues were used in places they were'nt supposed to be used in. Despite this it was nominated for an Academy Award in 1986.[1] It was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
The original release, as heard in the film, is seen as below par by many although the Varese Sarabande "Deluxe Edition" was more favourably received.[2]
