Algonquin Township is located in McHenry County, Illinois. The population was 86,219 at the 2000 census. It is the most populous township in McHenry County, containing one-third of the county's residents. Municipalities partially located within the township include Barrington Hills, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, Crystal Lake, Lakewood, Cary, Fox River Grove, Trout Valley, Oakwood Hills, and Port Barrington.
