Alessandro Gamberini (born August 27, 1981 in Bologna) is an Italian footballer for ACF Fiorentina of Serie A. He plays in the role of defender, is tall 185 cm and weighs 78 kg.
Gamberini made his first team debut for Serie A team Bologna F.C. 1909 in 1999/2000. He played for Bologna until 2004/2005, except a short one-season parenthesis for Hellas Verona F.C. in 2002/2003, before to move to Fiorentina in 2005, after Bologna relegated to Serie B.
Gamberini started in his debut with the Italy national football team in a 2-0 friendly win against South Africa on October 17th, 2007. He was not included in the original Italian squad for Euro 2008 but was called up after captain Fabio Cannavaro tore ankle ligaments after a collision with teammate Giorgio Chiellini in training on 2 June. Although he is unlikely to act as a first-team regular at Euro 2008, he may have a chance to prove himself and earn a first team football for the Azzurri.
