Albinus Nance (1848 – 1911) is best known as the 5th Governor of Nebraska. A Republican, Nance also served as a member of the Nebraska House of Representatives (1875-78), and was its speaker from 1877 to 1878 when he was elected governor. He was also a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1876. Nance served in the Union Army during the Civil War, and was a lawyer by profession.
