Al-Shymaa Kway-Geer

Al-Shymaa Kway-Geer is a member of the Tanzanian Parliament, one of the 48 women appointed to the National Assembly by the president.
A former airline clerk[1], Kway-Geer was appointed by Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete. An albino, Kway-Geer is charged with improving the treatment of such people in Tanzania, where many believe the condition to be a curse. Violence against albinos is common.
