Aileu is a city in East Timor, 47 km to the south of Dili, the national capital. The city of Aileu has a population of 17,356 and is the capital of Aileu District.
In Portuguese Timor, the city was known as Vila General Carmona, after the Portuguese dictator António Óscar Carmona.
