I'm reverting the changes made by Kimse. As "Standard Azerbaijani" may be interpreted as either Iranian or Azerbaijan Azerbaijani, I don't think it's appropriate to use Latin script. Plus, IPA is universal, Turkic notation is not. Straughn 17:20, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Is Afshar really a language?
Afshar is a clan of the Oghuz Turks, they speak Oghuz Turkish and have no trouble communicating with Turkish speakers in Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey etc at most its a dialect. There is complete mutual intellegibility between Afshar and other Oghuz Turkish speakers, even calling it a dialect is misleading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.0.143 (talk) 22:20, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
