Acrassicauda
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Acrassicauda is an Iraqi heavy metal band formed in 2000–01. The band takes their name from the Latin word for black scorpion, commonly found in Iraqi deserts. Consisting of lead vocalist Faisal Talal, guitarist Tony Aziz, bassist Firas Al-Lateef and drummer Marwan Riyak, the band claims to be the only Iraqi heavy metal band in existence[1], though there is a sizable heavy metal underground scene in Iraq. The band members fled Iraq to Syria because of the violence in Baghdad, and later fled to Istanbul, Turkey.

They were also featured briefly in the 2004 documentary Voices of Iraq.
