Reinvention: a Journal of Undergraduate Research
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Reinvention: A Journal of Undergraduate Research is an online, peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to the publication of high-quality undergraduate student research. It publishes electronically and in paper format, under the ISSN 1755-7429.
Undergraduate journals are of increasing importance given the contribution now made by undergraduates to research. Reinvention aims to raise the profile of research within the undergraduate curriculum. With this it has achieved some success, having been mentioned in the national (UK) press, both in The Guardian and Times Higher Education.
The journal was launched at the 'Student as Producer' conference held at the University of Warwick in September 2007. It is currently published by the Reinvention Centre for Undergraduate Research, a collaborative centre for excellence in teaching & learning (CETL). This multidisciplinary journal aims to follow in the wake of other successful undergraduate publication projects such as the McGill Journal of Medicine.
[edit] Editorial Team
The core journal team is supported by a range of sub-editors who are a combination of undergraduate students and faculty members from a range of intellectual disciplines. The Editor is David Metcalfe (Warwick Medical School) and the Project Manager is Caroline Gibson (Dept. of Politics and International Studies, University of Warwick). Reinvention also boasts an impressive advisory board, members of which are asked to promote the journal within their own institutions and spheres of influence.
