A565 road
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The A565 is a road in England that runs from Bootle in Merseyside to Tarleton in Lancashire.
It starts off on Old Hall St. Bootle near Princes Dock crossing a number of traffic lights and running parallel with 'Regent Road' (which is used in the film 51st State). It then passes Seaforth Dock, scene of the 1990s Liverpool Dockers' Strike, at the Seaforth flyover where it meets the A5036. It then heads north through Crosby, and on through the Liverpool suburb of Thornton. It then heads towards Formby passing Ince Blundell on the way, passing to the East of Formby proper. Once out of Formby, the road passes RAF Woodvale before arriving in Woodvale itself, going very close to the route of the Trans Pennine Trail. The A565 continues north through Ainsdale into Southport past the Royal Birkdale Golf Club.
Once it reaches Southport it runs through as Lord Street, and then travels to the south of Banks. It passes by Mere Brow and Holmes, before going by Tarleton, where it joins the Preston to Liverpool A59 at traffic lights.
