A. L. Swanson

A. L. 'Red' Swanson is a former college baseball, basketball and football coach.

From 1931 through 1937 he served as the head football coach of Southeastern Louisiana University. He compiled a record of 41-17-4. From 1943-1945 he served as head coach of the LSU Tigers baseball team. His record as LSU's baseball coach is 27-21. During the 1944-1945 LSU Tigers basketball season, he served as coach for six games, compiling a 4-2 record.

In 1950 he coached the USL football team. The team finished with a 5-4 record.
