Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Shaggy Flores, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Finngall talk 22:24, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Talk:Shaggy Flores. Such edits are disruptive and appear to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.
- Comment I will not do so in the future. I am new to wikipedia and didn't know the protocol. Sorry.
[edit] Your recent edits
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 22:52, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
To respond to your questions:
- Articles nominated by the Articles for Deletion process normally remain open for discussion for five days--this can be shorter or longer depending on the degree of consensus. Once the discussion has been opened, it must be allowed to run its course. You are, of course, welcome to continue to improve the article in the meantime.
- With regard to the other articles you cite, Ms. Luz could use some more references and Calderon's bio could use some editing down. Neither subject appears to have contributed to their own article. Neither article contains absurd claims about planets named Voltron.
- That said, comparing one article to another around here can be an exercise in madness. Since anyone can create or edit any article, and because not all articles get the attention they deserve, the mere existence or quality of Article X does not constitute any sort of "Seal of Approval" by the community, and using its existence to justify the creation of Article Y carries relatively little weight.
Now that outside references have been provided, the article may well be kept, but that is now for the community at large to decide. Let me know if you have more questions. --Finngall talk 23:09, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your Wikipedia article
Your Shaggy Flores article, dedicated to yourself, is quite a bit too much. You have no noteworthiness or notoriety, and I could name 7 professors from my alma mater AND graduate school who have more name recognition than you yet have no Wikipedia article. Please stop the charade and shameless use of Wikipedia as a means to increase your name recognition. Respectfully, --Noopinonada (talk) 02:34, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
